The tachometer in my 72 240Z is kaput. It gets power but is non-functional. Where in the #@!! can I get another?

Try ebay. I see them on there all the time. You could also try an auto recycling yard or check the classifieds on here or hybridz.org.

before you start buying a replacement tach make sure you are buying the correct one for your car. There are 2 tachs in 240Zs. 3 wire, and 4 wire. Which is yours?

Alright. Now that ya got me concerned. What is the difference in the 3-4 wire tachs? My current dead soldier has four light bulb inputs and is connected to a 4 wire harness. However, it appears the two white wires (stripped red and black) are connected to the same area on the back of the tach. Sorry for the stupidity, but this is my first Z in 20 years and I am on a severe learing curve.
