Has anybody still got a parts car? i am looking for a standard gearbox crossmember. anybody got one?

mine has been modified to try and fit the RB25, but i am afraid i will need to start again

Yup, got one here but its a bit rusty (who'da thunk?). Bruce's cars would probably be a better option though as you wouldn't have to deal with expensive shipping.

The recent two I striped and the one I brought back were all auto's. Hence the no comment earlier. I have looked into using a R30 crossmember without success as they are very different. I still have the centre console I am bringing up for you. Lets hope that still fits with all the tunnel mods.

i just had a look at the parts manual and it seems to be the same for both auto and manual (my car was originally manual anyway)., there certianly doesn't seem to be a destinction in the book

i was even looking at trying to maybe tac on the s30 transmission mounts and mounting tabs, not sure if the tunnels would be similar sizes though... it could be an option though!

Crap ! I did not get the x-member of the other two cars beacuse I thought it was different. I shall look on the parts car tommorrow, but don't hold you breath as it doe not have the gearbox (or diff) in it only the lower half of the engine.

I used the same (auto) crossmember when I swapped to manual, works fine. I even posted a picture in my thread... and this is exactly why I did!

If no luck with Bruce, I can bring it down with me to Bathurst if you can wait

Mounting hardware... I'm pretty sure I kept all of the rubbers, nuts and bolts in a plastic bag, but personally I'd replace the lot of it!

If you go the S30 mount, I have a trans tunnel and cross member lying round I could cut the tabs out of. Let me know.

could you give me the measurements of the distance between the 2 tabs? then i can measure to see fi they will fit

Its 250mm from centre to centre long, and about 55mm wide including the bush width at the point where it mounts.

Hey, a little off topic, but concerning parts cars -

I managed to crack the steering column surround with a gentle nudge - i guess the equation is 30 years of sun + exposure to plastic equals extreme brittleness. Anyway, i was wondering if those who have parts cars could spare one? Cheers,
