I am not a professional on such matters, but I always thought to use carbs and a turbo, you had to blow INTO the carb and 'box in' the carb to equalize pressure, etc..blah, blah, blah.... I did not think you were supposed to turbocharge the mixture. I guess it works? Any comments from the pros?

hmm, turbo's usually make the compressed air temp 120-180 deg C and petrol explodes around 232-282 deg C.

I suppose a gap of 50 deg C is ok but I don't know what fuel-air mixture would do to a turbo though

Around 9yrs ago a friend of mine at the age of 17 did the very same thing. He used a 2" English SU of a Jaguar. It worked well up until around 6000rpm and them ran out of puff. Extended pipe work was run to the front spoiler on the passenger side to give a "ram air" effect.
