not using the mech. fuel pump?

Featured Replies

okay. im getting ready to put a full 260z head on my l28.

the problem is that the mechanical fuel pump leaks fuel and oil.

my question is can i use just the stock electric fuel pump? or do i need anything else.

also, do they sell rebuild kits for the mechanical pump?

What are you doing ? If you are going to run carbs, you cannot use a fuel pump that is for injection. Too much pressure . I suppose you could use a pressure relief of some sort but if you just install a pump from a RX-7 Carbed car you will be fine . They put out about 5 psi.

oh.. ill be using the carbs... im just wondering if the 260z electric fuel pump (they came with 2 pumps) will work? if not.. that rx-7 one sounds sweet.

The 260 pump will do fine by it's self. Have you done the numbers ? since the longer stroke of the L-28 , what compression will you be running ?

bean,

no need to be sorry, i was tickled by the Zvirus 33 years ago and finally 'welcomed' the full blown infection in 11-04.
