Well, I went to move the Z out of the garage and when I pressed the clutch down it has no pressure. No resistance what so ever. It has plenty of fluid - which looks like it should be changed. It gave no warning, she sat for a few days and now this. Master or slave cylinder is the question? My guess would be slave. Any other ideas?

Nate

My guess would be master, bad slave would leak (blowby) from the pressure from the master. Much like brakes, soft or no pedal is a master. Pump the crap out of it and look for low fluid/leaks, if there are none go for a master cylinder.

You can pull the rubber boot back on the master and slave and see which one leaks if you just want to know which it is. Most people replace both at the same time, so if you're going to replace them both then you don't really need to find out which was the culprit.

Thanks fellas, makes sense. I just put it up on jack stands... no leaks that I notice from the top so I'm giving the bottom a shot. Z convention next week and I lose my Z... not good! Might have to next day a part, urgh!

Update...

Both on order from Advance... Master will be here tomorrow and slave on monday. Getting ready to replace ball joints in the next few minutes.

Ball joints finished... So I guess I'll just go for a drive, oh wait that's right...NO CLUTCH!

AAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!! :pirate:

Here's a pic of the ball joints I just removed, I think they're still useable :stupid:
