"A friend and former roommate told me about his aunt who worked a local convenience store in Arkansas. Although she liked the job and she loved talking to the customers, she always had a fear of what might happen if someone tried to rob her. She decided that she would keep several cans of soup at the counter so she could throw them at any would-be robbers.

Then one fateful day she noticed an unfamiliar customer wandering the store acting strangely. When all the other customers had left the store, the man slowly made his way to the counter. Can't help wondering whether it was the top/bottom edge or the rounded side of the can that came in contact with his "member". Either way, it sure would have turned him off soup for life.
