MSA will always have any of the parts that you need, not necessarily shown on their website, but they have almost every and any part. Victoria British also have many a parts. Although with both of those large selections comes a price

Many "full service" radiator shops can boil out your tank, open it up if needed, sandblast any corrosion, and seal the entire tank for you. You can buy the vent hoses from Nissan (some are pricey), or you can use generic "fuel/oil rated" hose from a Parts house for most of them.

There is the one hose with the 180 degree bend (at the rear of the tank) that I suggest purchasing from Nissan, the others I just use "fuel/oil rated hose" from the parts store.

The sender unit is (was recently) still available from Nissan. I don't think it comes with the rubber sealing O-ring, so order one of those also.

Check prices at places like Courtesy Nissan, Motorsport Auto, etc before ordering parts. Prices can vary greatly. Always as if they give a discount to Classic Z Car Club www.classiczcars.com , or Internet Z Car club www.zhome.com

As for the metal fuel line (the one through the trans tunnel to the engine bay) I have only replaced it with the drive train removed, so I can't say how difficult it would be with the drivetrain in place.

Couldn't you flush out that metal line with some kind of solvent and air pressure since you now have things disassembled?

Have you purchased the car or is the seller doing the work in preparation to get it running so you will buy it?

The fuel crud problem is because the car sat for an extended period of time without running it. If you have lotsa varnish buildup in the tank and lines I would expect the SU carbs to have similar problems ...... stuck floats/shutoff valves will be the next issue to address once you get fuel to the carbs. If you do get it running, you will probably find the brakes don't work or are marginal for driving on the street. Corrosion in the brake cyclinders is common problem that will need to be fixed and maybe master cylinder replaced.

We have been trying to unclog the metal fuel supply line, near the fuel pump it is like thick molasys and near the tank it hardened like rubber !!! Still have no idea what these kids put down his tank !!!! Thanks for the help you have been walking us through this project step by step and you are even making me look like a genius !!!!!

Maybe kids, maybe just rust (from condensation), jellified (is that a word?) old gasoline, and rotted rubber from the hoses. Either way it sounds like it's going to be difficult to get it all out. Hopefully the "plug" doesn't extend through the entire line.

Has anyone tried to boil out and seal their own gas tank !!! We Were thinking of using a solution of muriatic acid. One radiator shop quoted a price of $350.00 that seems a little high !!! Any where can you purchase a new tank !!!! Motosport Auto wants $700.00 for a used tank that they cannot guarentee.

$350 seems out of line high. I had mine done for $175 (SF Bay Area, CA prices and was warrenteed) about 4-5 years ago. I think you should be able to find a better price. Keep looking.

New tanks have not been available for many years.

BTW, a home repair for this sort of thing is IMO not advised. Toxic chemicals for one thing. Second, if there is rust in the tank, it usually needs to be cut open, blastyed, then repaired. (usually by soldering) Then sealant applied. Lots of work, no guarentee you'll do a credible job. Last, it should be pressure tested to confirm sound repair.

Well I went over the guys house today and we got more rust out of the tank and he decided to mix muric acid with water 50/50 and let it do its work and we did it three times and the tank appeared somewhat cleaner but I agree he is pissing into the wind the two process's EScanlon suggested sounds good to me and he should do it the right way!!!! Next the metal fuel supply line is still clogged and we keep adding solutions of stripper and we are getting nowhere fast !!! If you know anyone with a metal fuel supply line for sale in Florida and a good place to get this fuel tank done please let me know !!!! Thanks for the help guys and I will keep you posted !!! I only see people suggesting (and agreeing) that it be serviced by professionals.

Gas tank renew and Moyer Service are the professionals and I guess I was refering to their process !!!!!!!!!
