Z Car On History Channel November 7

Featured Replies

I did contact the producers of the show to see about getting raw footage, or directors cuts of the interviews, but they (huge suprise) have chosen to completely ignore my request-I am considering making a pest of myself to atleast get an answer, but maybe someone who was actually part of the inteviews could have better luck with a favor from these guys quicker than the application of a targetted nusiance...

Thanks for the pointer to the site - will order a copy. They also have a dvd focused on the Z supposedly charting its history.

On November 7 @ 11pm ET/PT, History Channel will be airing a program entitled 'Full Throttle-1971 Datsun 240 Z.

Here's the write up:

In this episode, Japanese hustle meets American muscle! The Datsun 240Z was the first affordable people's sports car. We got an upclose look at the 1971 Datsun design engineering that proved light years ahead of its American competitors. Diving into their overhead cam engine, we tear it down and build it back up for a head-to-head drag race at full throttle! After supplying two teams with the classic cars, garages, tools, parts, and 20 hours of repair time, we hold an old-fashioned drag race on a legal, certified track with safety devices for the drivers. As we follow the teams, we interject history at each step they take, including factory footage and iterviews with the legends behind the vintage vehicles. TVPG

This show will again be on The History Channel in the USA tomorrow SATURDAY APRIL 23RD, 2005 AT 7AM PACIFIC TIME ( 10AM EASTERN TIME)

Actually, back when I posted that, I thought it would be much better than it turned out to be. We have already discussed it at length. Take two Zs, spend a little time and money on them, and make them slower!
