Can someone help me understand what the lift and duration numbers mean? More importantly how do I compare different cams and know what their characteristics will be like?

Example:

Lift .441

Duration 260*

Lift .460

Duration 260*

Lift .480

Duration 274*

How do I compare these and know which one is good for what application?

Have already read that post and it just confused me more. :stupid:

When I see cams listed for sale the above info is all that's availabl as far as specs go. The intake and exhaust are the same if this helps any.
