March 4, 200421 yr comment_71202 It will have two be a 2-disk set at least. Maybe 3, let's see 80 minutes x 3 CD's equals 240 minutes..sounds just right!I sort of had a car theme in my head but in the spirit of this thread I started reminicsing about the songs I used to cruise to in the 70's. I couldn't leave out Bodhittsatva or Sultans of Swing. The order I wrote them is definitely NOT the order I'd put them in.Perhaps each CD could have it's own "feel" one cruising, War, Pink Floyd, Segar, Steely Dan, a second for highway/road tripping with Allman Bros, Golden Earring, Meatloaf and a third for tearin' it up with Aerosmith, Queen, Zeppelin, Deep Purple.Got to work some James Gang, Hendrix, Clapton, Santana, Who and Stones in as well. Maybe a early 70's group for trips in the 240 and a later 70's set for the 280? Sounds like another project on the list! March 5, 200421 yr comment_71229 big fan of Bob Segar, Pink Floyd, Cream / Eric Clapton, and darn near all others mentioned. But for me to trully get in a driving mood it requires something more like Metallica ...And Justice For All and Master of Puppets. On the flip side U2 and especially The Police! But these are only period correct to the ZX's . As for the early years I'd go with 1970-73 American Woman and Not Time...Guess Who War...Edwin Starr Travellin Band...CCR Oye Como Va...Santana Eighteen... Alice Cooper Horse with no name... America Black dog...Led Zeplin Hot Rod Lincoln...Commander Cody... I'm just a singer...The Moody Blues (or any other MB song for that matter!) Space oddity...David Bowie Superstition...Stevie Wonder IMO Nate Link to comment https://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/10417-z-music/?&page=3#findComment-71229 Share on other sites
March 5, 200421 yr comment_71236 the most important thing that matters to me is that it has a snappy, driving beat, cool melody and some good lyrical lyrics. That means no rap or Hip-hop where the music revolves around some boring thump junk. You wouldn't want to fall asleep, and get in a collision! Oh- no hate songs or negative stuff like that. March 5, 200421 yr comment_71240 I would use Toto or Carpenters if you wanted to get somewhere with a chick/girl/lady. Or maybe if you were depressed and wanted to depress yourself enough to drive off a cliff. Journey and Asia have a few snappy songs that girls like and guys will tolerate.
