10/11/2016 Update: Just over two years later, and this 1971 Datsun 240Z is back on the market, this time with an asking price. The car itself presents as a decent driver with so-so cosmetics, but what really caught our attention was its unusual swap. It’s still straight-six powered, but now packs a BMW S50 from a second-gen M3, rather than the original 2.4 liter Datsun. With twice as many cams, valves, and 600cc or so of added displacement, power is up significantly to 240 HP and 225 lb ft, and though in need of some repairs and finishing work, we dig the concept and think it could be worth finishing to a higher standard. Find it here on Craigslist in Newnan, Georgia for …

This 1976 Datsun 280z has undergone an extensive three year rotisserie restoration by its owner of 11 years to transform the car into an officially licensed BRE tribute, drawing styling inspiration from the racing team’s “guest car.” Noted designer and BRE owner Pete Brock provided assistance during the seller’s restoration, lending guidance on the livery design and designing the number 30 applied to car. Power is provided by by a fuel injected inline-six, stroked to 3.1L with a P-90 head from a later ZX turbo and crank from a Maxima diesel engine. A fully programmable Racetech fuel injection system is installed with crank triggered timing and a rebuilt 5-speed from a lat…

Looks like a good start for a project. New parts alone add some value. http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/5818405698.html Don't know the person. From the ad below. His number pops up if you click Reply at the top. Let me torture somebody - @Mark Maras " Im really sad to have to sell this, and would love to put the work into it, but with school, work, and life, I just do not have the time and I would love to see someone else get this thing back on the road or use it to repair something else they've got in the works. Its a beautiful beast and I hope someone can make something of it. Im asking $750 OBO, its got basically a new set of tires on it, and Ive…

This 1976 Datsun 620 (chassis HLG620104843) has been modified for use in Street Class autocross events with a nice mix of a warmed-over L20B, 280ZX 5-speed, three inch drop, sway bars and more. Overall the truck looks pretty sharp, though some through-rust will need to be tended before too long. Still, it’s a very cool and unusual build, and we love the idea of an old, green Datsun pick-up dashing around the cones. Find it here on eBay in Fredericksburg, Texas with no reserve beyond an unmet $3k starting bid. Green suits the truck quite well and finish looks good overall, aside perhaps from light fading atop the bed rails, while white is an ideal pairing for tailgate l…

This 1972 Datsun 510 (chassis PL510407401) is said to have just 29k and change miles from new, 22,000 or so of which were already accumulated by 1980. Paint remains almost all original, and the interior sounds as if it might be similarly well preserved. The car looks great throughout, and is said to run and drive just as well. Find it here on eBay in Kelowna, BC, Canada with reserve not met. Described as a two-owner example (not including the seller), the car is said to have added just 7k miles from 1980 to 2010, and only 300 more in the past six years. Paint is said to be all original apart from a small area (beltline up) on the driver’s door, and there’s a dent where…

This 1973 Datsun 240Z (chassis HLS30161340) is offered by the third owner, who obtained the car in 1978 and describes it as completely stock and largely original. Though running, it will need what’s claimed to be minor rust repaired, and cosmetics are charmingly rough–it could be fixed up and driven as-is while saving for new paint, interior fittings and the like. Find it here on eBay in Coarsegold, California with no reserve. Exterior shots are limited, but Magic Hour lighting and decent camerawork flatter the car. Finish has been polished down to the primer in several spots, and the rest is quite flat. It looks good in a scruffy kind of way though, and added accessor…

I saw Mike Brewer of Wheeler Dealer fames post on facebook several months ago that they were going to be doing a 240Z soon. Apparently they are working on several cars in the US this season, and it looks like this 240z is one of them. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-240Z-1972-datsun-240-z-/321665301615?forcerrptr=true&hash=item4ae4befc6f&item=321665301615&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
