So while removing my engine I found some very strange holes in my engine bay. One on each side of the firewall around the transmission, they both look like they were punched out, but not hole-punched, the metal is frayed and torn looking. One has a tube coming out of it the other is just the hole. They just don't look stock because of the way the metal is torn and that they're not clean cut holes. So if anyone knows what these are or can give some guesses as to what they might be? I guess eventually I'll find out where they lead and if nothing else. Anyhow thanks and here's a picture, I can get a closer, better quality one of just them if it helps.

Had a great turnout last weekend for the Midwest Z Heritage show, everything from stock 240Z's to modded 370Z's and even a few from Infiniti. Here are a few shots of the 1st Gens that showed up.

There's a decent looking blue '70 Z near Greenville, SC for sale on Craigslist. Not the best photos, but the buyer says it's mostly original, 170k miles, minor rust spots. The VIN is HLS30-04440. Seller wants $4,500, but everything is negotiable. http://greenville.craigslist.org/cto/2450009347.html

I must say that the time I have owned my 240 has been ummmmm fun! I purchased it the end of last month. The PO had done some imaginitive work to the dash to say the least. I have driven it for probably 250 miles running here and there in it. Here's the deal on this car. 1971 240z AZ car 5 spd runs and drives great, I have headlights and tail lights and an ampmeter beyond that nothing else works on the dash. No fuel gage, oil gage, clock, temp or blinkers. The car is complete less stereo and half of the glove box door and the lense on the passenger side. I am putting her up for sale I can't figure out how to place an ad on the classifieds here and I don't care too much for eb…

http://s1094.photobucket.com/albums/i443/Z7375pb/1975%20280Z/ I love the "god-forsaken state" of California, as it's been referred to on this very website...but at times in its infinite possibilities bestows gifts like the one you can view via the link above: a one owner 280Z (1975 is a smog-test exempt model year, I'll smugly admit), which was sitting for an undertermined number of years. I bought it off eBay a few months back. Just got the chance to really work on it. I installed the new EFI fuel management and it works great--I haven't even fine tuned it yet! No rust, no patchwork repairs, no previous altering, cutting, chopping, modifying, bastardizing, trying-to-chan…

I'm putting in a restored gas tank so I've currently got the existing one out of the car. What should I be looking to replace/repair while the tank is out? There is the dreaded smell of fuel if filling the tank more than 1/2 full. Is that something that can be addressed now? Any suggestions are welcome.

The ignition switch on my 72 240z has the following problem: when I turn the key from lock to accessories and start, it get stuck and I have to play with it several times to finally be able to go to start. It is not the electrical part of the switch being the problem but the mechanical part where the key goes in. This part is sealed and i don't see how it can be dismantled to look what is wrong inside. Is it fixeable or does it need to be replaced?

Imported this car here in the UK from your shores (CA) this year and it is totally totally rot free....quite amazing. A tatty car but it was totally standard and un welded but has received a dodgy paint job some years ago. Now with a tunes 280 engine, wheels, arches, adjustable suspension, complete exhaust system and wilwood brakes here she is.

My Zed is finally getting tired and is starting to burn oil as the rings are shot and I believe there is the begining of a lobe going flat on the cam and the valve seals are shot. It is time for a rebuild. I have tackled a lot of combos over the year, but never an overhead cam motor. I am looking for a honest place in the St. Louis Metro Area that rebuilds or has long blocks for sale. The car is not early enough to worry about keeping the matching numbers with it, it has had a ton of replacement parts. I would like a nice driver motor, stock power numbers would be fine. Any ideas?
