  1. So I just recently (yesterday) bought myself my very first Z car. A 1980 Datsun 280zx completely stock. I'm about to do an alt on it in hops to getting it running! She will start with a charged battery then die when charge dies. I was originally told it was lacking the Alt belt but upon inspection the belt was actually there so I presume that would mean the Alt is faulty. is there anything else I should take into consideration and close look at while restoring this? any problem spots or things worth doing for the long run? Unknown miles and while its running there's no weird noises other than an exhaust leak. any help is appreciated!!
  2. Got my front and rear control arm bushings installed (stock). Decided on stock mustache bar bushings. They are longer than I expected, but I figure after you press them in you have to flare the end somehow. Check the photo. Is this the right part ('72Z with an R200 swap). If its right, how do you press them in? http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=32789
  3. Hi Folks, Long time lurker, first time poster. I've searched for this and unfortunately haven't found anything. Does anyone know where I could get the rubber seals (gaskets?) for the stock SU air cleaner? This would be for the early air cleaner (non flap, non heat-riser tube). I am thinking about getting rid of my individual round K&N filters and going back to the stock air cleaner box. Oh, and would anyone happen to have an extra set of bolts for the air cleaner? I'm missing one of the wing-nut/inner bolt pairs. You know, the one that holds the outer shell to the mounting plate and the bolt that goes inside the air cleaner between the outer bolt and the mounting plate. Thanks! -Dan
  4. Does anyone know the original tire manufacturer, size and model for a 1975 Datsun 280Z sold in the US? Was the spare any different? Any help is appreciated!

Me and my dad are looking to install racing harnesses in our stock 1973 240z. We do not want to have to drill any holes or install any roll cages. Is this possible?? It looks like the cargo tie downs in the back could be used but I have no idea. Thanks in advance.
