Well today i was doing some driveway restoring (or cleaning) and m parts Z shell had to go to the junky. The car itself didnt fit on the trailer i was going to bring it to the junky with, so i cut the whole entire front end off up to the firewall, pulled out the engine and set her back down. now i have 2 halfs of a car and an engine and a tranny. If anyone is interested in any of this parts car plz tell me. I would like to sell the engine or tranny as whole so i dont have miscellaneous parts everywhere, however i do have other parts i wouldnt mind selling ( it was a 100% complete car at one time and ive only sold about 10%) Also the rear of the shell is free for anyone who would like to come pick it up or ship it. It would need a TOTAL resoration and would only be good for designs such as a tube frame. The front end of the car was totally rotted so it had to go anyways. If u are interested in anything about this Z dont hesitate to ask. if no ones interested in the shell then its going to the crusher (remember the shell is free !)

  7. Hello all. I have a 1976 datsun 280z im restoring and hopefully makin a race car out of. I came across a 300zx twin turbo engine in the junk yard today that looked to be nice. It only has 100k miles on it i suppose. Its missing the distributor. I dont know a price on it yet but if i were to buy it i would probably buy the whole car so i could use what i need off it for the swap. Anyways i was wondering if this swap was worth it or should i just go with a v8. im looking for more of a high end, quick light car, not a big muscley tank that doesnt turn. Is it to much effort? will i be able to mount it properly? will the drivetrain fit? I have a later model 5 spd i believe, would that tranny work on that engine? any info is greatly appreciated, thanks!
  8. jeezus, calm the hell down. we cant change any of this its just evolution. the past it the past, the present is the present.

i was flippin through hbo the other day and stumbled across possibly the worst movie on the face of the earth, but i believe i saw a blue 280Z. Its in the movie You got served. right before some guy gets jumped they show him waking by a blue Z.
  10. i am using the MC and slave cylinder off my 240 for my 280 which has a 5 spd in it (its a 1976 5 spd is an upgrade just dont know from what). Anyways the pedal height is totally thrown off and is about an inch above my brake pedal height. Is the M/C different or is the slave cylinder different? i figured just the M/C cuz i used the non adjustable rod original from the 280. Anyways i figured id post this here instead of starting a new thread. Can i still buy new clutch M/C's for a 76 280z or would i have to find out what tranny it is and match it to that?
  11. why all of the sudden is there so much tension between people on this site? im gettin tired of it already. :sleepy:
  12. yah good point, i understand what you mean now. Its not a book of comparison its a book about Z's.
  13. im not dissin or saying anyones stupid man... im just sayin its the first generation of the Z. I hate to see ppl raggin on the Z just as much as you do, and i honestly dont like that he said that, im just facing facts. I highly doubt and Z (modified or not) would ever handle like a cadillace fleetwood or a chrylser new port. Maybe he was referring to american as the corvette or mustang. who knows when someone says american car it doesnt really narrow it down at all
  14. evolution.... as cars are out longer they become more advanced in certain areas. Maybe the 1970 Z had a rough handling compared to a 72 or 73 (both being totally stock). then again, he is a racer. I dont know, but hes prolly used to like what lance said, race prepped 911's. I find it kind of complementing having competition with a totally stock first generation Z to a much evolved 911.
  15. exactly.... but i notice ur name is cr rider... u ride alot? =P off topic but shoot me a pm im a big dirt biker myself
  16. i definantly agree with you on that one man. i cant say i worked 50 hours a week in a seed warehouse but i did work really hard to get my Z. Hell my Z isnt even restored i just have the thing, im only half way there. Everything i own i worked really hard for and it was never just given to me. I appreciate all people like this cuz i know it isnt easy. Im not tryin to start anymore drama on this site but all im sayin is i appreciate peoples work and complement them everytime i get a chance to. When people work hard they deserve whatever they get. I dont care if its a 10 year old kid using a ferrari as a jungle gym, as long as they worked hard to get it, i appreciate it. As for the spoiled yuppies, i have a differnt opinion

the smoke could be several problems, one might be valve guide seals, whats the mileage and etc? might gives us more of an idea of where the car is at in its stage of life =P

well my Z had a fiberglass one on the driver and metal on the passenger ( lookd to be actually stock i sat there scratching my head for awhile.) This was off a 72 240z. It made no sense cuz i sanded them both down and they both had the same paint layers on em. Theres no evidence of any crashing. i have no clue....
  20. yes that too =P
  21. haha. i restarted a badd thread, they really need to get a delete thread button. Anyways as for young drivers having nice cars.... its usually their parents buying them nice cars, they sell drugs, or on a rare occasion (like mine for instance) they worked their arse off.
  22. damnit!...

just a thought but usually when gas lines turn yellow its because they dry out like mentioned earlier, and weather tends to eat away at them over time ( color distortion, stiffness, cracking) Ive experienced this alot on dirtbikes but i know you can purchase gas lines that are totally resistand to all this at places like your local hardware store, or automotive store. On my bike now i have some clear blue gas line ( purchased at a hardware store i believe) that really stands out and has done great resisting weather, dryness, heat, and tearing ( this stuff is strong). Search around, ask people questions at the stores and ull find it
  25. Hi all. I figured i would create this thread for numerous reasons. First off how fast does a Z really go? from 0-60? 0-100? top speed? whats it do in the quarter mile? stock? modified? I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread where everyone can share their videos, times, and speeds of their Z and maybe get some competition goin... Lets hear it guys! ( and girls)
