Ok, 240k here...
And as I come across other threads I'll move them here so they will be all in one place so you guys can find them.

Kyosho 1/18 model
The Kyosho's are THE best when it comes to detail and quality that I've seen so far. But, beware of the last minute bidders....although this is the LHD model that has been discontinued. You can still get the yellow LHD model here, you'll have to go to the third page: http://www.die-cast-models.com/listings/main_venkyo.html I guess it's worth a bit more than the 60 dollars for the yellow model since there is only one of the two colors offered in the LHD, but how much more is up to the person bidding. Tower still has the rallye cars available as well.

If you had a choice-3.70LSD vs 3.90
My choice would be dependant on which 5 speed you are going to use. If it's the 280 speed with the shorter overdive, the 3:70 would be fine. If it's the ZX 5 speed, I'd choose the 3:90 if I had the choice. Reason? With the ZX trans, you will still be under the overall ratio you would have with the 4 speed and the 3:36, which will mean your highway RPM's will be lower than stock. With the ZX trans and the 3:70, your highway RPM's will be quite a bit lower than the stock set-up, and we all know the L engine doesn't have a lot of torque in the lower RPM's(under 3K), which would mean if you were to try a pass on a 2 lane road, you'd almost have to drop a gear to complete the pass safely or quickly. If you have both diffs, try one and see how it works, and you can always swap the LSD to the one that suits how you want the car to drive... Don't forget, the tire size you choose will also affect the ratio as well, so you will have to take that into account in your choice as well as which trans you are going to use.

300ZX rear break calipers
I don't know where you are, but most any "quality" auto parts supplier should be able to source either pistons, rebuild kits or reman calipers for an 84, NAPA would be where I'd look first.

Zinc Plated Rotors
I don't see how zinc plating would stand up to the high temps for very long... Might be OK on a show car that never gets driven though.....:stupid:

Something I've never seen before
My problem is a cheap camera....and it's too dark without the flash, yet way too bright with the flash in macro....:cross-eye

Sandblasting
And, if you are going to blast it outside where you won't be able to recover and re-use the media, your best bet is to use plain old "play sand" you can get at most any hardware store or home improvement center like Lowe's. Just make sure it is dry and if it has any clumps in it, set it aside for a while to dry. Just be sure to put a tarp down if you want to try to re-use any of it and get a fine piece of screen to get rid of the rust/junk that you have already removed so it doesn't clog up your nozzle on the blaster.

trivia
All 69-78. Funny, the one who played "Cooter" on the Dukes lives not too far from me and has a big get together once a year I think it is, or maybe not that often. Silly me, "Daisy" was there the last time and I didn't go.... but then, she doesn't look quite like she did back then....:disappoin

Ultra-perf tires
Don't forget the Toyo Proxxes, they work well in the wet, and wear better than the Kumho's.

Something I've never seen before
The Yat Ming die casts I've seen aren't as good as the Maisto I got, but the Maisto doesn't compare to the detail of the Kyosho, of course, for the price of one Kyosho you can buy 2 of the Maisto's.... The Yat Mings I've seen, when you open the door or hatch, the paint colors don't match. Try looking at Tower Hobbies site, they've got a great selection of die cast and plastic models. http://www.die-cast-models.com/ Check out their other hobby sites for plastic models. Now, the Fujimi kits are almost as hard to find as the 1/12 Tamiya kits. The 432R kit is one I haven't seen in a while either.:disappoin Seems most of the plastic kits you see are all ZG models anymore.

RB26dett in the 350z
No one ever said anything bad against the RB engine itself, only against putting it in a 350. First of all, I doubt it would even fit considering the amount of room one takes up and the fabrication required to get it under the hood of a an S30 car. After seeing how cramped the V-6 is under the hood of the 350, I don't see how a tall engine like the RB would fit under the hood. Those 350's don't have a lot of room to spare with the V-6 in there, and that is a pretty compact engine in itself. Second, it sounds like whoever was attempting the swap didn't think it out too clearly as to the amount of work and money it was going to take. And it sure isn't going to whup up on anyone's car after it was repo'd, possibly in pieces.....:cross-eye

Something I've never seen before
I've been watching the model kits on Ebay as well. Although, I'm getting too impatient and shaky to do one the way it should be assembled.......:disappoin I've been watching the 1/12 Tamiya kits to put away, but, wow, the prices on them are pretty high, even higher than the Kyosho die-casts I just got. I guess I'd rather collect the die-cast, no work required and I can spend the time on the ones in the shop that need my attention more than a plastic model. I was surprised at the Roadster model kit, as I'd never seen one before.

Oil comming out of spark plugs????
The only way to know for sure where the problem might be would be to do a compression leakdown test. A compression test doesn't tell the whole story. During a leak down test, compressed air is pumped into the cylinder, and wherever the air is escaping will tell you where your problem lies. Bad valve seals will end up letting the air escape into the valve cover as well as it will if it is escaping past the rings. To be absolutely sure of your engines condition, you ought to do a leakdown test after you replace the valve seals, since the seal replacement is the easiest and cheapest to do. Also, the seals don't require a large amount of teardown, so it would be the first thing I would try. Once the seals are replaced, the only other places you would lose pressure during a leak down test would be either the rings or the valves or seats themselves.

240z BRE rear spoiler
If you are talking about the 3 piece spoiler that is just a bit taller than the BRE style, they have been out of production for some time now. I'm not sure when, but they disappeared a while ago from all the suppliers.:disappoin Darn shame as they were always one of my favorites. I've got the end pieces of the one I took of the 280 I had, but can't seem to find the center piece.:disappoin

Something I've never seen before
With all the recent interest (mine included) in die cast Z models and plastic model kits, I happened to see these on Ebay today. I don't remember ever seeing any Roadster model kits before, but here's two on Ebay right now. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3175548041&category=1190 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3175558584&category=2581

trivia
Way back in the early days of the show, Radar was sending a Jeep home piece by piece, but they never told whether he got the whole thing there or not. He did send some animals home to live on his mothers farm. BJ's and Hawkey's only true fight, which led to fists, was when Radar was discharged and met BJ's wife Peg. His daughter Erin called Radar "Daddy" and BJ went on a drinking binge and punched Hawkeye. Hmm, Col. Flagg still had me stumped... Edward maybe? Or, was Sydney at the camp for Klinger's and Soon Lee's wedding before they all went home? Hmm?

Boxers...
Of course, every individual dog is different, but boxers can be a handful... A friend of mine has one, which, when she was a pup was cute but not a "cuddly" dog. She was always bouncing around the room from one person to the next. She once used the back of the sofa as a launching pad to hurl herself half way into the kitchen, aimed directly at my chest....:cross-eye Nuttin worse than a flying 80lb+ dog.... Even at almost 8 years old, she's a handful, and still a bit on the hyperactive side.

trivia
Err, you might want to ask a few less questions at a time....:cross-eye Get's kinda hard to answer that many at once. 1. Sergeant Zale. 2. Crab Apple Cove, ME 3. Radar didn't have a sister. It was just his mother, his uncle Ed and him. 4. Hawkeye went a bit nuts, due to the woman on the bus smothering her child. 5. Got me on that one... but give me a day to think about it. 6. Horse Hockey 7. His name? Sherman T. Potter 8. Frank Burns 9. animal, think it was a lamb? the Greeks brought it and they made one out of Spam, after they got everyone drunk on Ouzo (sp?) 10. got me again, memory fade.... 11. His horse Sophie 12. Jumped in the Foxhole BJ filled with water 13. which time? they had a couple.... 14. Boston snob, Chief of Thoracic surgery at Boston General 15. record player

trivia
Holy snit...talk about bringing back memories of the "good old days"... Rat Patrol, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, those were some of my favorite shows when I was a kid... Used to sit on my Dad's lap and watch Rat Patrol...:cross-eye Didn't he used to wear what would be consider an "Aussie" hat with one side flipped up? Now, if you want to talk MASH trivia I might have a chance... I haven't forgotten things from that "era" yet...:stupid:

What should I do?
Make sure you disconnect the coil wire when you are turning it over to get oil pressure up, you don't want it to fire off until you are sure there is oil pressure, and that the oil has had a chance to circulate a little.

Original wheels, hubcaps, and tires
Think they might be "period" correct tires, but they are too big to be factory tires as far as I know. They look like the same tread pattern as the originals though, so, they may have been changed shortly after the car was purchased. I guess it's also possible the dealer put them on the car as an "upgrade" when it was new. I'd be happy to have just those hubcaps....:devious:

changing from a 180 to a R-200 in my '73
Yup, you'll need the lower transverse link as the 280 has a curve in it to clear the rear diff cover.

Fantastic deal
Hmm, guess we know where that Skyline went..... I think Victor posted a link to that one when it was for sale. http://www.geocities.com/coolin550/kpgc110.html I like his Z better before the G-nose....at least he picked a good color for it.:devious:

Not bad Z on Ebay
I almost think I'd go for this one instead, with a 3200 Buy It Now it seems like a better deal. If the floor pans and the rest of the undercarriage are as clean as the T/C rod area of the inner fenders, this one looks to be in fine shape. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2460073848&category=6187 I have a feeling the other car is going to end up going for a lot more than 3200. The only thing that got my attention on that one is the fact the engine bay doesn't quite match the color of the rest of the car, perhaps it's just the camera or the lighting, but it almost looks like the car might have been orange originally. The engine bay looks pretty sad compared to the rest of the car, it definately isn't as clean as I would expect judging by the rest of the exterior anyways.

OK, I'm mad now......
I'd sure like to just take a test drive in one...:devious: without a salesman of course..... I drove one of the "lesser" V-10's in a 4x4 3/4 ton pickup a few years ago, and what a rush that was. Quiet, had as much torque as the Cummins diesel I had at the time, and everything happened twice as fast. Stick your foot in it, and if you weren't watching the tach, you'd run that thing up to redline in not time at all. Shame they discontinued the iron block V-10.:disappoin
