  1. Currently with "no current supply", to find a NOS bullet point mast you will pay what the market will bear. Same can be said for a good straight used bullet point mast. If they were to be available again through a vendor the price would adjust. An example of that is the tail lights. At one point NOS tail lights were well above $1,000 and a good clean refreshed set above $600. The tail lights are not reproduced and the market has settled at around $400 for a set. The up side of these items demanding a high price is that it becomes affordable for vendor to reproduce them. I paid $150 + for a NOS mast 6 years ago. I have not seen one sell since then but know that I paid $1,000 for NOS tail lights at the same time. You would also have to consider the cost and complexity of set up to re manufacture. If I remember correctly someone located the original tail light molds etc...I may not be correct on this but I am sure someone on here will jump in with correct information. We are back to demand and cost of manufacture on the mast. I believe that an accurate reproduction to original specifications would easily bring $75.00 to $100 maybe more.
  2. Patcon, I shipped mine to Canada. If you want I will forward your information to Todd and you two can work it out. If that works give me your email address and if you have any photos. Thanks JLP

An individual call me this morning base on a ad I ran a few years ago offering a rust free roof for a 240. He lives in Michigan and is restoring a 72. He is looking for a rust free roof. Any one out there parting out a Z and would not mind shipping a roof?
  4. Almost finished. Still looking for proper material for drain tube. I hope member is happy with the results. It was great to have the products from rubberparts.com available for this project.
  5. I have a set of these, they came highly recommended. I have not had a chance to use them yet. I believe, from my research, these and a colortune should make it possible to put a great tune on the SU's. I would be glad to do a review once I find the time to tune the carbs.
  6. Works well. https://zcardepot.com/carburetor-float-sync-tool-su-240z.html
  7. Steve, go ahead and invoice me for two sets. Thanks JLP
  8. If the information is true that Nissan is planning to begin supplying parts for restoration of the Z car and Skyline this may be a part to contact them and request replacement parts, such as this that as good as some are at reproducing some parts this one is not one that can be independently re-manufactured.
  9. In looking at the design of the antenna I believe that this is correct. The connection to the mast has to be through the housing of the mast and the "brass fingers" would serve that purpose, through the retainer nut to the brass threads which are isolated from the body of the antenna. The antenna cable is connected to the brass threads that the retainer nut attaches to. I am not 100% sure of this, but it makes since when you look at the design of the antenna.
  10. Zup, I noticed that the brass piece is removed from the retainer nut prior to the plastic cap being installed. I believe that the brass piece is a ground for the antenna mast necessary for reception. Any thoughts on that? Thank Jerry Purcell
  11. I thought a few before and after pictures of this latest antenna restoration might be nice. I media blasted the aluminium case with walnut shells polished the used mast, blasted wire brushed and plated the yellow zinc parts. I put together all of the best bits and pieces and put it all back together. A chrome cap for the ball and restore a retainer nut and cap, this project will be finished and on it's way back to the owner.
  12. Kats, the one I am restoring is a long 5 piece mast, I believe that my 72 has the long mast as well. I found a NOS mast for my car in 2011 out of England. It would be great to have reproduction pointed tip replacement mast. Thanks again for your attempt to make this happen. JLP
  13. Thanks Kats. That would help out a lot of members.
  14. This is a members antenna that I am helping him to restore. I an now awaiting the rubber parts. JLP

I am interested, just need some member feedback.
  16. Are we still in pre-order or has a member installed this dash? I would love to get some photos and feedback. I have a couple of dashes in the attic with minor single crack and am considering installing one for a future needs spare. JLP
  17. First you need to clean the metal with wax and grease remover. I then tape off and sand blast the spokes to bare medal, but I assume that is not an option for you. I would use wet or dry 400 sand paper, wet. Be sure to protect the plastic of the wheel. Then I would use black primer filler, sand again with 600 not breaking through to the medal. Once that is dry I would re-mask the wheel, use a tac cloth to remove any dust then spray with a black satin or semi-gloss acrylic enamel. I am sure that others have different ideas, assuming you have limited equipment, I believe this will give you good results.
  18. I would like two complete sets, these parts along with the retainer nut cap piece. Thanks for making these available! I will take a look at your site it has been awhile since I ordered I probably will order a couple of other pieces.
  19. If the mast could be reproduced with the correct tip it would be a no-brainer to have at the very least 100 reproduced. What is the cost per unit? I had forgotten about the seal ring under the retainer. I hope that along with the cap Nix can reproduce this part. With the mast and the rubber parts correct restoration of an antenna for the early Z will be possible.
  20. Nix - 240ZRUBBERPARTS.COM as we all know makes a lot of reproduction rubber parts for our restoration projects. He is just finishing up on a replacement part for the original 70-73 antenna. He has the ability to make the ball (two halves) for the antenna where it comes through the body. I was also wanting to see if there is any interest in reproducing the body gasket for the factory sport mirrors. I am taking a poll to see if there is enough interest in these parts to warrant reproduction. Interest in ball as shown below: Interest in sport mirror gasket reproduction: Interest in sport mirror gasket:
  21. We need to run a poll on the "ball" at the base of the mast. If there is enough interest nix will make it. I know I would like to have a few of each. JLP
  22. NIX240z, looks good. Let me know when available or I can just pre-order if you prefer. JLP
  23. Mike, yes it is. I have been in contact with the seller. The problem with that one is the method for mounting seems a little if'y. You simply cut off the old one and trim down the metal retainers and glue that one in place. I will try it if I do not find a better option. I have a good one on my car and one spare. I am restoring an antenna for one of our members which needs a replacement. Thanks for taking interest in this post. JLP
  24. Looking for antenna parts again, I am working on a project for a member. Any parts out there, you are willing to part with? Specifically I definitely need the exterior finish retaining nut with the plastic cap. Anyone know of a source? Thanks for your help with this. JLP
