  1. I don't know what you might be wanting or needing. I have as you have seen a early OHC 2400 valve cover, I have an early rare front core support seal that goes between the core support and hood to limit the air going above the radiator. I have a 4 core radiator ready to go. Original NOS set of inner scuff plates lots of yellow zinc plated parts etc....Hopefully we can make a deal I am on a mission. Thanks Jerry Purcell
  2. Les Canaday (Classic Datsun Motorspors) now owns it. It has been a race car most of it's life. I owned it for 31 years.
  3. I updated my oddessey post a few hours ago with my plans. The car is, from new, not considered stock. It from when I purchased it new had Datsun Competition parts on it. Spook, mirrors, wheels. It was restored keeping those parts. Since realizing the the restored car cannot compete for a gold medallion I have decided to finish the period correct Datsun Competition theme. I have and plan to install a original Datsun Competition Racing Suspension kit and the FIA (MK63 calipers). I had a set of MK63 Calipers and mistakenly let them go with the 00029 car. I am also wrestling with having Dave Rebello build me a purist engine next winter. Then I plan to flog the car!
  4. Thanks for the offer, I may have to take you up on it. I will just have to buy rebuild kits on Yahoo Japan and try and find the MK63 elsewhere at this time. Thanks again. jlp
  5. I took a look and found that I have two of these. I will post pictures later. I ordered walnut shells for my blast cabinet and will post once I clean them up. One has the simple "OIL" cap and the other the "Elephant" cap. They are both in excellent undamaged condition. I have a total of 6 valve covers with two being the OHC 2400 early production. I will be selling or trading off most of 40 year collection of part to fund the current project on my 72.

Started the process of disassembling the front end of the Z this evening, bumper off, wiper valance off, access doors off and grill out all bagged and tagged. In looking to align the front doors , hood, and fenders I found that the right strut tower is approximately .375" in. I don't know how this came about but I know that now that I know I have to fix it. I plan to disassemble the front and take it to a friend with a frame machine. There we plan to move the tower slightly. I hope this goes as planned. Once this is finished I have plans....... As you know if you have read this post I purchased the 72 new and it, from the showroom floor, had a few Datsun Competition parts; Sport Mirrors, Front Spook, American Racing Libre Wheels and the accessory 240Z side stripes. When restoring the car it was put back as purchased. Little did I know when I made that decision that the car would not be able to compete for a gold medallion, although that would not have changed my leaving the car as purchased. That being said I have decided to go the rest of the way with other period correct Datsun Competition parts that I purchased back in the 70's that I have had or currently still have. I would put these parts on the car when I would take it to the Bellefontaine, OH annual hill climb. The WOR (Western Ohio Region) SCCA Club would put this weekend event on, and it was a blast. I plan to put my Datsun Competition Racing suspension kit on it (dropping it 2") and am looking for another set of Datsun Competition MK63 four piston calipers for the front. I believe this will make the car a period correct blast to drive example.
  7. I know what you mean. I have thrown out more parts than I have kept over the years. I will get some pixs out soon. jlp
  8. I will see if I can post a pic tomorrow. I do believe that they are bringing a bit more than $75.00 but we will see. Thanks JLP
  9. Thanks Kats, I have been trying to bid on the first but after making a 20,000 yen deposit through a proxy biding company (fromjapan.co) it will still not let me bid on any of the MK63 yahoo japan auctions. I had a set of these on the front of my 1970 race Z. Vin# HLS30 00029 back in the day. They ended up on the rear after we updated the car for IMSA in the early 80's. I contacted the current owner to see if he would sell them back, but have not heard back from him. It is very difficult to bid on auctions in Japan.
  10. I have an early 2400 Valve cover. It is from HLS30 00029. Best offer.
  11. I started following these yesterday, I set up with a proxy bidder and made a deposit but it still will not let me bid on them. I will continue to try but in the meantime I know someone has a set here in the US. Thanks JLP
  12. They were sold by Datsun Competition as part # 41000-E7201 & 41010-E7201 as an F.I.A. upgrade. I do not know of any other applications.
  13. I am on a quest to find a set of original Sumitomo MK63 4 piston calipers for my 72Z. Anyone have a set laying around? Seriously I would appreciate any leads. Thanks Jerry Purcell
  14. Just to confirm the carbs are sold? Thanks in advance for your reply. jlp
  15. I have a 73 left door glass as well as the right.
  16. I will take a look to see if I have still have any of these.
  17. I know that I have the rear, front, and quarters, I will check on the left door glass later today and let you know.
  18. Dan, thanks that makes some since to me. Do you know if they were painted or not from the factory? Thanks JLP
  19. Thanks for the quick reply. jlp
  20. Give me a zip code and I will see what I can find out. Thanks again JLP
  21. From what I have been told the upper front fender bolts (next to hood) are special 6X10mm in that they have a thinner head than standard. Is this true. If so, source?
  22. Thanks for the offer. Do you know what it may cost to ship. Do you think that the vent lines could be transferred to my tank? Shipping address 418 South 4th Street, Richmond, IN 47374 Thanks JLP
  23. Does anyone have a diagram of how the vent tubes run (terminate) inside the fuel tank. I am thinking of having the correct vent tubes added to my tank.
  24. Correct part number is 17201 E4600.

I can't really say. Sent car out in 2006, picked up 2012, 4 years later I pull the tank and see it is not the correct part. I don't know if it got mixed up at the shop or what. I just can't imagine that I sent out the wrong part. I had put back the restoration parts back in the late 70's. I just know that I want to find the correct part now. I don't know if that will be possible. The correct part is #17201 E4600 that is what I have listed on my parts inventory that went out with the car. Thanks for your question. JLP
