Car seems to fit the Street Mod class and since it is not stock, then period correct goes out the door and being clean is the first, second and third requirement necessary to win an award.

My Old School Early 70's Magnesium Minilites (not wannabe's)!
Real Mag wheels are not something I would mount on any car that was driven or raced. Nice but dangerous.

Engine Porn
My in-laws lived in Merrick before moving to White Plains and I was scared making the drive from Boston to LI every time. Stay off of 95, use the Merritt and then on to 91 up to 84, the Mass Pike, then either 290 to 495 or 495 to Rt 3 north to Nashua. Maybe we will get some drool buckets ordered.

So will we see you and your very pretty Z at ZCON in August? Seems a few hundred Z folks would enjoy drooling over your car.

New Driveshaft
Ask if possible for a "race" balance. Speed balance is fine for a Jeep but not a unibody sports car.

Arizona Z Car Brakes/Suspension
Firm pedal using bigger brakes is a function of the right size MC (15/16 or 1-inch) and a larger booster (260 or 280).

Arizona Z car and what Diff?
If Ross is still making/selling adapters all you need are either 280ZXT or 300ZXT CV shafts.

Wolfcreek racing ($1,000.)

Heat shield above MSA coated header
I run a heat shield, a coated header and the 6 to 1 header is wrapped. Boiling 93 octane fuel while struck in traffic isn't my idea of fun.

BRE Datsun 240z! nice engine sound!!
Ron - did that car have mufflers inline? I ask because no one nearby had on any hearing protection.

Reducing Vehicle Weight
Stock interior door pulls had numerous 1/8 inch holes drilled on early race cars. BTW, the difference between FG and metal body parts (fenders & hood) will not yield 200lbs unless you got a complete FG car save the roof (doors, hatch and rear qtrs). Replacing the rear hatch glass w/lexan will help.

really loud horn
I hit my air horn a few summers ago as a zombie tried moving into my lane. The girl driving reacted so badly, she ended up flipping the car more than 3 times. No one was hurt and folks who stopped told the police she had been driving weird for more than 50 miles and they were expecting a crash at any minute. Yurns out she and her girlfriends were high but at least had their seatbelts on. For every action, there is a reaction. Be prepared.......

Zcon 2013
The reduced room rates at the convention hotel, the Crowne Plaza in Nashua, NH, will expire on Sunday, March 31st. Reserve your room now and safe $10./night, which if you stay for 5 or 6 night is almost the cost of registering for the convention itself.

Auto to stick conversion
Center consoles were different (could have been replaced) as was the harness (extra connection shown in the FSM).

240z spare tire options for oversized brakes
Honda 15-inch works for my rear 240SX rotors but not on my front Wilwoods. If I have a flat on the front, I'd have to swap a rear tire up and then put the Honda tire on the rear.

Black valve covers on 240s

Window seal quick fix?
It might work if you cut sections to match and piece together with 3M weatherstrip cement. Get one and see. If it works go back and get 3 more.

When to stop with "while this is off, may as well fix that too"
After taking the tail light bulb out I found it wasn't the bulb but the maybe it could be the socket, then the harness itself or perhaps the fuse box and then I was taking apart my multi-meter because it didn't seem to function correctly. At this point I put the car back in the garage and went upstairs to watch TV.

Finally installed rear camber adjustable bushings
Yes, but you should not need no more than 0 degrees camber and I would go with 0.25 negative. Don't go over 0 positive. I run 1.8 neg in the rear of my street 240 with 0 toe. Fronts are 1.5 neg, 1/8 toe and 4 degrees caster. That's with 225s on the front and 245s in the rear. Corners very well.

Finally installed rear camber adjustable bushings
Correct, but only if you want more negative camber. A 1/2-inch slot at the top coupled with a set of concentric RCA bushings will do the trick nicely. Grinding gets you another 1-2 degrees.

The three bolt stock insulator slotted is simple and easy to do. You don't have to trim the insulator unless unless you find you need to. The race car has the tops slotted and we get -2.5 but we ground down one side of the insulator.
