  1. Alright let me try again. Mike at Banzai has them listed. I have ordered other stuff from him before and have been pleased. http://www.zzxdatsun.com/ Go to the catalog, then to the 'bits and pieces' link.
  2. Yes, I think Charlie Osborne has them, or at least he has had them in the past. Hes in Ontario too. http://www.datsunzparts.com/
  3. Although this doesnt have as much 'Don't taze me bro' effect, the 350z orange color (I think it's called Solar Orange) looks good on a Z. I've seen pics here of a 240z painted that color and it looks good.
  4. I actually have some of these bolts in bags, I took a look and it seems mine have been replaced over the years with generic 'whatever fits' bolts because in my baggies I have a bunch of different bolts. Most of them are not the zinc colored ones I assume to be original. I dont have calipers or a thread pitch gauge either. You also need someone who has all their original sized bolts too! I used the microfiche cd to find out the size of bolts I needed for most of the front timing cover, maybe that will help you. Do you have the microfiche cd?
  5. I bought the whole hyperflex bushing kit for my '72 and put the box in the hatch while my car is being painted. My buddy who just bought a Z brought his into the same mechanic and while changing out his shocks he needed a rear control arm outer bushing so I told the guy he could steal one of mine as he said he ordered a new one and it would take a week. Well the one he ordered is rubber, so I am trying to find one bushing which is 2 pieces and a sleeve. The bushing has 3062 stamped on it, and i'd prefer black. I dont want to buy the whole kit just for one bushing, and I dont want to mix rubber with poly. So if anyone wants to part with one send me a price in a PM.
  6. All good points also. Sandblasting my Z didnt actually remove all the paint or rust. I had to be careful and didn't want to over-blast it so to speak. Its almost impossible to blast thru the filler that was on my car, and also couldnt get thru the undercoating. I ended up using chemical stripper on the roof. The best tool I had was a drill wheel that has long fiber bristles on it. That was the best thing to remove paint and most light rust. I tried the 3M paint stripping wheels, and a few others..but those worked fastest and best. Mind you I took my car completely down to metal. Every bit of it except the back of the underside which I plan on doing when I do the suspension. It took a long time and was alot of work, but I feel way better sending my body into the shop bare. Also I should mention that after I stripped it I etched the metal (I used Por Metal-Ready) then I cleaned it all and shot a quick coat of rattle can primer on it. The body shop was good with what I did and just took over when I dropped it off.
  7. Hey, The metal is thin on the body panels, so choose proper blasting media so you don't warp the metal or work-harden it too much. I assume your body shop will take care of this but make sure you re-apply seam sealer where its all been blasted out.
  8. Ron, I've had a few good offers from the U.S. but didn't want to risk shipping it. I also want to wait til I get mine together, I can always fall back on this early dash if something happens to mine during re-assembly. If all goes well I'll try and sell it next year. I think the early dash is the one that has the '17' written on it.
  9. Alan, Thanks for having a look at them. There is another character in the upper left. I thought I got the camera low enough but didnt. I will move all my carefully placed parts so I dont have to tiptoe around it so I can get a better shot on the weekend.
  10. I just went and looked at the 3 dashes I have, and they all have writing on them. I took a quick pic of each. I'd love to know what it means if anyone knows. I dash is an early '71 and 2 are 72.
  11. I was just looking at those pics trying to figure out what was going on. Thanks for the insight, Ron.
  12. Just looked at the picture again..I think theyre only the floor supports, but I'd call him anyways to see if he has any in case.
  13. Theres a guy in Kingston, Ontario that I got my floors and rails from (240z). He lists support rails for the 280zx and floors. I dont know if thats the complete rail you need, but go have a look. Call him he may be able to help you out. http://www.datsunzparts.com/NewParts/summary.htm
  14. This thread is great guys! Nice to see all of this rare stuff. Just think...one of those cars could be in one of our garages right now. I have 3 dashes in my basement tucked away, Im going to pull them out this weekend to see if they've been 'tagged'.
  15. Hey, welcome to the club. Im in Maple up near Wonderland...just a bit west of you. Have you dug into that hatch yet to see how bad it is? Theres also a really good shop in Toronto that deals in datsuns if you find out you need mechanical work that you can't tackle yourself.
  16. Sounds like a great color combo. Post some pics for sure when you get her back.
  17. Courtesy Nissan has an interior bolt kit replacement kit that looks pretty complete here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/s30_zcar-creations.html I also seem to recall a kit for the entire engine..Ill look for it now.
  18. Did anyone here keep their stock radio intact AND hide a newer stereo somewhere? I'd like to be able to show off the AM/FM but still be able to enjoy 4 speakers worth of sound. I was thinking hide the new head unit in the glove box, and put a pair of 3 1/2's under the dash somewhere, and maybe put one of those 6x9 boxes in the back that I could remove or hide another set of rear speakers somewhere. Again, not to threadjack, just thinking of ways to enjoy some music in a Z.
  19. PM sent!
  20. Ya, I'll find one then. Im just annoyed I got the wrong one. I'll try and sort it out with the seller, but I won't hold my breath. I jumped on it because it said it was '79, looked like the e12-80 in the pic and couldn't find one up here in Toronto. If anyone has one they wanna part with send me a pm! Thanks for getting back to me guys.
  21. Thanks Arne.. what does the vacuum advance mod involve? Zak
  22. I just bought an ignition module off ebay for a 1979 280zx but when I got it it reads E12-93. I assume I needed the E12-80 to go with my zx distributor for the 240z electronic ignition conversion I wanted to do. Can I use this module? What year is the E12-93 really from? Any help is appreciated. I searched a bit and found some discussion that said you can use it but need a different vacuum advance possibly. Thanks guys,
  23. It looks like you can use a wire wheel or cup brush on a drill to hit that rust. I would try that from looking at the picture, then if theres any left you cant get to I'd spray it with an acid or at least a rust converter type stuff. Then prep and paint as per the caliper paint kit.
  24. I just checked Black Dragon auto..they list the front left only. I checked Motorsport and they list front left and right for 72, but only the left for the '73. I see these on ebay regularly, but not sure for what year.

I have the harness from Dave. It's still in the box! (my Z is still in pieces). I should suggest this part for my friend. He's a new member and will probably introduce himself once he gets the safety done for his Z.
