240K-GT grille for sale
Yeah the badge would be nice, freight on the whole grill is the killer. Can anyone get me, or direct me to, the same mesh as installed in these grills, but larger sheets? (HiJack Alert!! :bandit: ) Cheers, Jim.

Another source of parts.
Have a read of this guys (Len Brennan) exploits...fantastic stuff. A well rounded source of just about anything you could want to keep your Z going. Jim.

The two S20 warriors
I have a one and a half A4 page article here from an Australian motoring magazine ~1973, relevant to the Fairlady Z432-R. I can scan it but can't get it to a small enough size in bits(<100Kb) and still be legible. I have seen examples here I'm sure, so I'm guessing it's possible.... Can anyone direct me to some useful tips? Cheers , Jim. Or I can email the whole jolly thing to someone more competent than I ?

converting ignition to electronic
I can put you in contact with Ray Ferguson (Prince) builder of NA RB20 into his kpgc110 body. He did convert to dizzy ignition though. I'm bettin' he'll have wiring diagrams? I can't see it being too hard to set up though..as long as you can get the cct diagram of the donor , and drive a multimeter, you'll be able pick up the battery or ground from the C110 key ignition action, as required by the ecu of the new motor and then run it via relays as required..I don't know if it really is that easy in this case. For me it's usually a case of try it and see!! That pinout diagram is a good start, but I would still like to see what the ignition switch is doing ("ON" and "START"positions) in the donor car.

converting ignition to electronic
Sounds like they just patched around the loom path. They've identified the point that needs +12V and run a direct feed from the battery, a brave move in electronics unless you are sure of what you are doing! Do you have a wiring diagram for the donor engine or loom? You don't wanna let that smoke out...they run on smoke you know....

converting ignition to electronic
I suspect Mike is on the right track....But you will need wiring diagrams of the C110 and whatever the donor loom came from. It sounds like a difference in sequencing during the keying of ignition(Gawd! sounds like something from "APOLLO 13") . Do you have the ignition and lock from the donor? It's just a guess but you may be up against a difference in what gets connected to what as the key is turned. This to me explains the need for extra relays, remembering that (basically) a relay simply "relays" the switching of +battery or ground(-battery). Remember, it all runs on smoke....if you let the smoke out ...ya buggered  Jim.

Hakosuka on E-Bay
U.S. $11,100. Anyone here? Bit hard to say if that's a lot or not. Considerably cheaper than mine was, but just from the photos it's a lot rougher around the edges so to speak. Just how much is "enthusiast value" worth? It's all in eyes and wallet of the beholder I guess. Being "Rare, Rare, Rare" can be a double edged sword. Chance of local parts unique to this model almost nil. That's the beauty of "Z" ownership in your market, they were sold and supported locally for years and 30-35 years on with a bit of searching and luck you can still turn up that elusive part. Yet with all the practicalities against it I couldn't be happier with my own purchase. It just satisfies ALL the senses :stupid: I totally understood Erics post, in a way any car lover here could appreciate....some things are more than just the sum of their nuts and bolts, waddayareckon? Philosopher Jim.

Getting the C110 to handle
Here's a pic of Ray Fergusons (AKA Prince in forums) KPGC110 with RB20 . The sway bar is yellow, SELBYS suspension, popular during the '70's was all yellow. Perhaps Ray has found an aftermarket selbys bar for his '70's Skyline? He may be able to help further. I pinched the pic from an early Skylines thread over at Skylines Australia, thanks Ray. Jim.

KGC10-R Pics
Thanks for the photos and link Rob, Joes' little write up on the C10 made excellent reading. I've now been made aware of 4~5 older Skylines..say pre 1979, landed in the 'States by Servicemen returning from Japan. I think they've all had the L28 with triple twin choke sidedraughts, sweet exhaust note and as Joe says a high head turning factor! There was one for sale (in Florida think?) on Ebay a few months back. Blue C210 two door ~1978? with all the nice bits. Same story...Serviceman brought it back from Japan, keep looking Joe, you never know what you may find. Elsewhere on the 'net there is a guy in th U.S.(ex-Serviceman) with a white 1972 two door, he was advertising the fact the car was available for displays, shows, openings etc. Whatever the site was that I found him on, he had a friend with a four door c10. I looked for some time to find it again... no go , sorry. Hey, I did find a Z related pic with a skyline connection...wanna see it? Cheers fella's Jim.

240K's X 3 plus Prince Gloria at outer Sydney Wreckers
Hi Steve, No mate, my wheels are a bit plain jane compared to yours. Unfortunately the centre caps for the 240k were only put on these wheels when they were sold through a NISSAN/DATSUN dealer in OZ..as far as I know. The centre is a stylised "N" or "S"...looks more like an N to me. I found a pic ...it shouldn't have the paint on it,...and a larger diameter centre cap

240K's X 3 plus Prince Gloria at outer Sydney Wreckers
Rob, $40 for 240K ignition switch with original key. The key for the boot and doors was not original, sorry. Passenger side lock was gone. Looks like somebody got at it overnight. Lachlan,at $20 I grabbed the bonnet trim. It is near perfect with a very slight depression near centre. Should be an easy fix with some massaging and buffing. The boot lid trim is perfect, looks the same as a coupe trim to me? the other smaller end bits of trim were all damaged. The grill as a unit seems perfect. The coupe in the yard was the third car up in a pile of four. Didn't have time to have a good look , it appears to be an Australian GL, stylised "D" on Steering wheel centre, but it has a JDM square headlight "2000 GTX" badged grill with what looks like a huge belt buckle in the centre.Someone has added the 240K GL badge above the 2000 GTX badge. Rear badge is 240K GL. My centre caps are for the nissan mag wheel, this car had the steel wheels with (different) centre caps. Any shifter I saw was nothing but cracked plastic. You have to see this yard to believe it. Most places you need to walk sideways to fit between the stacks of cars. I pity anyone who needs a part from a car at ground level. When I have some time to spare I will go back and investigate properly the 240ks of interest, 'till then.......... Regards, Jim.

240K's X 3 plus Prince Gloria at outer Sydney Wreckers
Yes, he has all original keys, and locks. Boot, fuel door, front doors, glovebox and ignition. I'd say they need a clean up but they appeared to be in good nick, just neglected and dirty. Please let me know ASAP! Jim.

240K's X 3 plus Prince Gloria at outer Sydney Wreckers
Lachlan can you post a quick pic of the centre cap of interest? I've noted your other requests and will do what I can as soon as possible. I would love to be able to grab anything worthwhile from the car, but at the moment it's down to my usual nemeses, time,(storage) space and money. Jim. P.S. you better tell me how the shifter deteriorates or what to look for!

240K's X 3 plus Prince Gloria at outer Sydney Wreckers
I happened across a 1977 240k auto sedan outside a wreckers in Riverstone NSW this afternoon. Although it is all original, gold with black interior, and all there, it is in very sad shape, a lotta rust. Been sitting outside with windows down for years by the look. I noticed it still had the original NISSAN ignition key, petrol cap key and boot key. It's also got aircond. Good dash, steering wheel, black front passenger seat, rear lower cushion seat. I was told it will go to scrap next Tuesday 14th Sept. as the yard is too full of old cars. There are two more 240k's in the yard, I didn't see them but was told one is a coupe the other a sedan, with various parts stored in them. There is also 1 Prince Gloria, only got to see this from about 50 metres away, but definitely a GLORIA ~1964. The Only phone for the Yard is 0402 100 156 If you want me to chase anything up on these please let me know AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!! ideally with a mobile contact so if they have what you want I can let you know the cost from the yard. Regards, Jim.

KGC10-R Pics
Thanks Gavin, I intend to have a reference established on a dyno in the future, I'm sure any seat of the pants figure I give you will be heavily weighted by my frame of mind at the moment The only thing I have to compare it with at the moment is my trusty stock 240K Auto, but it is very torquey in my experience. Hi Craig, I think the four door you saw was a red '66 Nissan Prince S54BE-III, i did see that but could find no C10, see if you can find the ad again? Not thinking I would ever own a real C10, I too have acquired lots of C10 kits and models. The Kyosho are brilliant as are Ebbro. My work brings me into regular contact with SBS TV people so I'm gonna do a bit of quizzing about that movie. Can you add anything like approx airing date time etc? You never know, I might be able to get us a copy!! While I think of it, will you guys be making your way to Goulburn next Easter? It'd be great to meet as many NISSAN/ ZEDHEADS as possible :classic: G'day Alan, Thanks for the info and insights again! I was exploring a Japanese bookshop in Sydney a few months back. In my endeavors to explain what I was looking for I mentioned "Hakosuka".....Well! the Japanese gents' face lit up with a huge grin, he quickly corrected my pronunciation to ..as you say..Hako-Ska and went on to explain the meaning. This chap was well aware of the cars and their popularity in Japan, and seemed fascinated that an Aussie could share the passion for an old Japanese car. We looked for quite a while but found nothing on the older cars...he even tried to find anything on the Prince Cars. he has since ordered and supplied a nice little prince and skyline reference book. Thanks again guys, Cheers, Jim.

KGC10-R Pics
G'day Alan, I've inadvertantly got this spread over two threads now! ahh well.. My point about the rear quarter panels was really just that I was very pleased it has them, but as I've responded in the engine thread, I cringe at any suggestion it is anything else but a nice look a like, nice as it would be to own the real thing, the car as it is, is a much better propostion for me, best of both worlds really, it looks the part without having the concerns of the care and feeding the genuine article in the engine bay. The stolen gt-r badges were placed in the glovebox at the auction...and never seen again  May I ask a favour? Could you explain your use of the word "romanisation"? I understand it as your interpretation but why "roman"? I'm curious as I've seen the word roman on some GTR related sites. Also, the character on the rear window in my attached pics with "machine friend" across it, any clues as to what it represents? Thanks Alan, I do appreciate your insights into the culture and scene these cars are coming from. Without having the ability to read/interpret Japanese text, there is only so much one can glean from pictures .It's one thing to use a translation tool....but interpretation is a new ballgame! Cheers, Jim.
