  1. Well if anyone wants them they are on Ebay.au, in Melbourne. Currently at AUD$10 each no bids. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2405123444&category=34166 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2405123396&category=34166
  2. Are these the part numbers for wheel bearings for a 240z? 43210-E4100 43215-E4100
  3. My car doesn't have a Tail. Should it have a tail? Did the last owner remove it? Should I order a replacement Tail from nissan? Whats the nissan part number for this missing Tail. My car has a front and a back, but no tail. Does it drag along the ground like a mouse tail, or stick straight up in the air like a cat tail? What would happen if a car was too close behind me and ran over the tail?

Yes all factory wheels were steel with hubcaps. All Mags were dealer options. The 260z was the first Z to get factory alloys I think. You know the ones. I see them on every 260z 2+2 on the road.

I'd rather one that tilts up, then slides back like a Supra, RX7 or MX6 style. You need a lot of roof to have a sunroof that slides between the roof and the headlining, or you're not going to have a very big sunroof. Remember there's a big roll bar type frame where the dome light is. And it eats into the headroom, as the headlining has to be thicker to hide the sunroof and mechanincs. I have one of those glass tilt up sunroofs  (I didn't do it). I'm considering a metal lift and slide type replacement, or welding up the hole.
  9. I'm surprised the windscreen wipers aren't painted red also.
  10. Like this? These are my mags. Dont know the brand. Possibly "Globe". 14" diameter. Slightly Different. More angular slot than curved. I've seen a set like these for sale. in Perth WA. Not sure of the PCD and the offset though. check out this thread: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5813 and this one http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5742 http://www.zparts.com/ads/wheels/pages/wfs-29.html

Groupie work huh? Yes they are From NZ. Yes the a Lo-Fi rock/punk thing is popular at the moment. (some of it is just sh*t though).

A friend of mine saw it. Said it was about a guy, and a big bunny rabbit made him do evil things. I havent seen it. I forgot what i was going to say next...... hmm..... oh well. Any Zeds in it? (There, that makes it a Zed related thread).

Changing the Air filter would make that much HP differance. Or just fudge the rounding when converting from Kilowatts. I believe the maximum allowable power rating in Japan for factory produced road registered cars is 206KW. Which equals about 280HP. They could easily (dont read cheeply) be tweeked to make more power. Which is why a 91TT supra has the same HP rating as the 97TT supra, which has half a litre more capacity in the engine. BambiKiller. Have you seen the old animated cartoon (in B&W) called Bambi meets Godzilla?

Ah now its all starting to make sence. The new z wasn't designed to be a 2 seat sports car, it was designed to be base model that could be a 2 seater (the 350z), or a whack on a few different pannels and a back seat to get 4 seater (G35). Cars designed by nissan bean counters.

    Damn right. It's a skyline isn't it?
  17. They use the terms long motor and short motor (which has nothing to do with how long the motor is). I think short motor mean the block internals rebuilt, and long motor is the short motor, but with the head rebuild also.

So what is an Infini? I've never heard of it. I though from this thread it was a renault? But now is sounds like its a skyline. If it's just the prestige marketing ploy to raise the status of nissan, by disassociating the car from nissan and creating a new brand name for the car, then yes it's really a nissan. If it was made by nissan in a nissan factory with nissan parts it's a nissan. In the same way that a lexus is a toyota, and a eunos is a mazda (MX-5 = miata, mx3 = eunos 30X)
  19. Not the car just the odometer. Ive heard about attaching the speedo cable to a drill and leaving it running to change odometer readings. Just wondered if it was a urban (used car salesman) legend.
  20. What happens when you get to 999999 miles, does it roll over back to 000000? if so, to "roll back" you just attach a drill to the speedo cable and crank it over untill you get to the miles you want. the other method i've heard is taking the speedo apart, which is very dodgey indeed. The ferris bueller method doesn't work (as it didn't work for him either) thats where you jack up the car and run it in reverse. VB to VK Commodore odomoters stop working around 150000 kms, guarenteed!. low mile cars also have problems associated with lack of use. flatspot on the wheel bearings, corrosion, etc.

Drop a corvette engine into you're 240z and see if you can join a vette club with it. Somehow i dont think it will happen.
  22. A light rebuild to me would be new rings, bearings, gaskets, and reseat the valves. Which is what i have planned for my car.
  23. An L16 is an "L" series 4 cyl, just like the 4 cyl L20, but with, you guessed it, 1.6 litre displacement. there was a 6 cyl L20 also just to get confusing.
  24. Your probably just used to seeing modified cars. The stock struts have a lot of room between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch. I like all old datsuns.
  25. All the good cars have already been made.
