    I had a 1979 310 that was Ziebarted. They did a good job and the car never showed any outward signs of rust. It was a daily driver that lived in the Rust Belt. Lots of salt on the roads in winter. If the shop sprays it on correctly and its good metal to start with, you shouldnt have any problems. Much luck, Chris

    Luke, if you have any GM/Holdens with the HEI distributor, the module from that is what you'd need for that conversion. I'm running one made by Accel on my 72 right now. Chris

  6. Gran Turismorator You scored -23% You are a respectable tuner. You probably subscribe to one or more tuner magazines and know, quite a bit about your car and/or racing in general. Either that or you play a shitload of GT3. At any rate, you recognize the difference between a wastegate and a blow-off valve. In time, and with practice, you may attain "Racer X" status since it is supposed that you are relatively new to tuning and still have much to learn. Keep, working, and thank the maker that you're not a ricer. I used to play "a shitload of GT3." Chris
  7. Do you have any close up photos of those Vicky? Disregard this post. I went to your gallery and found the one of the drivers side front. Looks good. I'm actually building LED's to fit the stock side marker lite housings. I'm casting new lenses without all the reflex lines on the inside of the stock lens. With the LED boards I've already made and the new lenses it should be nice. Chris
  8. Thanks Enrique. My 73's hood sits correctly when closed, my problem is when I pull the release it doesnt pop up enough to easily get your fingers on the lever to open it. Any suggestions? Parts are all new as is the seal on the cowl to the hood. Hood is flush with cowl when fully closed. Thanks, Chris
  9. Thanks Ed, I usually wear tank tops in the summer so mine gets a lot of exposure. Good idea on the forearm. I once thought about going Ozzy and doing 240Z across my knuckles but then I sobered up!! :classic: Have you given any thought to your color scheme? Chris
  10. Hey Ed, I'm confused about "mirror image". Can you explain. I took the photo of my arm in a mirror so that's why its backwards but you all knew that anyway. My wife surprised me two years ago for my birthday and said "lets go get you a tattoo." You'll have to show pictures when you get yours done. Chris

    In 1987 my wife had a 75 280Z and it had a split sunroof. It was junk. Leaked, rattled, and eventually one half of it blew off while going down the road when the latch broke. SUNROOFS IN Z CARS NOT A GOOD THING!!!! My .02 Chris

  14. I bought the #3043 nuts. With regards to your flaring question: If you can flare the tube once with out it splitting then you'd be okay. The double flare is just more insurance against leaks. Chris PM'd you BunkyScott

  16. Metric brake line nuts are a pain in the arse to find in the US. Here's my source...http://fmsiinc.com/brake-line-tube-nuts.htm Now I will tell you, these folks were very helpful BUT...I had to buy a bag of 100 nuts. Now some of you may think that's crazy (I am) but when you have 6 Datsun/Nissans its really not bad for me. If you call them, maybe they could find you a distributor that could sell you however many nuts you need. I'm sure I dont have to tell anyone here that if you mess up a nut, you have to cut the steel tube, slide on the new nut, then double flare the tube. That can get nasty. As most of the posters here have said. Get a new tube/nut assembly from the local parts house, bend it accordingly and reinstall the whole thing. I bought the nuts because I have bulk straight tubing and made my own new lines from scratch. I have a tubing bender, flare tools and flare nut wrenches and best of all lots of patience. :laugh: Much luck, Chris

    Greg, I have a 1984 Precision Ujoint Catalog. It lists this for the 240Z. Main Shaft #391 Spicer Equivalent #5-1501X Half Shafts #393 Spicer Equivalent #5-1505X. I purchased mine (Spicer) from the local driveline shop. Much luck, Chris

    gema, My dad had his Cutlass 442's engine bay and front suspension soda blasted. Really nice. Left a nice smooth finish for the paint. Must be rinsed with a solution afterwards but I'm sure you know that. The shop that did it for him even left some of the rubber bits on the car and they were not affected by the process at all. I would do it if I ever needed it. Chris
  20. B&M used to make a "shift improver" kit for the Jatco Box. No longer available new. I bought one on ebay a few years ago. My 72 has a 280ZX box and I was going to put it in and never did. 100 bucks and its yours. Its complete with all the parts and instructions. You modify the the oil flow through the hydraulic valve body with spacer plates and stiffer springs and check valve balls. Let me know if you want the kit. I really dont want it anymore. Chris

    Yes, Silvia in other countries. I had a 77. Once you got past the looks it was a pretty good car. I had a built L20B in mine with SSS intake and twin SU's. It was pretty quick for a four cylinder. The interior is actually pretty comfortable. I wish the 240Z's had the steering wheel that was in those early 200SX's. Very nice to hang on to. This car started my love affair with the L series Nissan engines. Very reliable and make lots of power after some gentle massaging!! FWIW, Chris
