  1. Ok, this is an easy one. Get the carbs. intake, and linkage from any source. Unbolt the FI. Bolt on the carbs. install a pressure regulator, set to 4lbs. Go and have fun. This is all that I did when I installed an L28 in my 240. I don't think there is anything I left off. This is also all that a friend and I did when he converted his 76 280.
  2. What year Maxima? Any other mods needed other than the bushing? Would that be the pully? I'm not sure what bushing. Thanks!!!
  3. Did you check out the differences between what you purchased and the GM one wire alternator?
  4. All right Alfadog!!!! Way to change the subject to make it Z related.
  5. Looks kinda---------rude!!!

Ed, She appears to be a true labor of love. What a great job you have done.
  7. First car? It was an eaeliy 60's corvair. Not even sure of the exact year as I only had it about 2 months before it self destructed. It was one of those corvairs that when you filled the gas tank you also filled the crank case. I think it got more mpg of gas than it did oil. Cost me $50, tax, tag and title transfer. Not even sure if I got the title before it was dead on the side of the road. No fond memories!!!!

  9. Love the wheels. Tell us about the headlight covers.
  10. You don't have to remove anything. Just buy a philips head screw driver that is 1" to 1 1/4" long. Bit of a pain in the arse but alot better and overall easier than removing the blower or anything else. Good luck..
  11. You dared to hold Danica to the same standard as the male drivers on the track!!!??? Hell man she was ahead of all but three of them. Why hold her back?
  12. I am curious. What is the real reason sopwith21 is so passionate about Danica and Indy? Female in a MAN'S world? Did he lose a bet? Media attention about her new status, regardless of how long or short lived? Why would she not want the attention? Why would she not want to bask in the accomplishment of being there start to finish? Why would that be a hot issue to him? Just look at the bottom of his page, "2004 GT Challange Series champion" and "2004 Comma Rookie of the year" He must be proud of the accomplishments to note them both. Why would anyone not want to say look at me, look at what I did. Just curious.
  13. Yeah!! What jmanz6 said!!!
  14. Regardless of all the media hype to get ratings, she is one hell of a driver, she deserves the attention she got for doing what she did, in a mostly male sport. And all at age 23.
  15. That isn't paint, it's polished alum. All done up for some major introduction of the car.
  16. I have always used the orig. nissan filter. I have a friend that races his Datsun and wins. He told me a long time ago that the orig. filter had a check ball inside that other filters didn't have. This check ball did not allow oil to back up. I don't know if other filters have changed, but if they have it would be to correct a problem that Datsun had already addressed.

    I thought 74's were 260's.
  18. Hey beandip, Sounds like a reasonable consideration!!!!!
  19. At this point anything is worth a try. I'm running an L28, in Florida and have not had the whole problem you're dealing with. I came to my conclusion about the pin hole as I did have that issue once. I'm scraching my head on this one.
  20. I would say that your experiment eliminated any possibility of vapor lock. I would continue looking at the hard line and the connections between the tank and the filter. After all your experiment shows the problem is in that area. Don't know what the deal is about the hood.
  21. You're correct about the pump pushing to the front, it would push gas out if there was a leak after the pump. When you say that you open the hood and every thing returns to normal, is this at idle or are you driving? At idle an air leak would not necessarily show up as it would under load.
  22. It would suprise me if the bubbles you are seeing are a result of fuel over heating. I wonder if the bubbles are air bubbles being sucked in at some point between the tank and filter. You've replaced all but the hard lines. If they are the original lines, they could have a small pinhole drawing in air. Do you still have the orig. mechanical fuel pump?
  23. Great one Bill !!!!!
