What does the original battery look like?
Ahh! Thankyou Alan. Do you happen to have a picture of the real one handy anyway? Does it operate like I guessed? I noticed there are also "DATSUN" mudflaps on another sprue, I think I'll discard those too Thanks again-

What does the original battery look like?
I have another question for you guys. Please have a look at the attached picture. Those are the parts that make up a jack. I'm sorta guessing it stands vertically and the hook hooks onto the bottom of the car? I don't know, but it doesn't look like a stock item that came with the 240ZG! Anyway, does anyone have the correct term for this thing, or even better a picture of a real one? Hoping for a response, Lachlan

believe it or not
Ahh, I never knew that. I think the brown carpet looks better than black with the ivory interior anyway. I can't believe the strut towers didn't have a vinyl pattern on the 260Z! That's very curious, do you know why? I much prefer the diamond vinyl as found in the 240Z. Do you know if the 280Z's patterned or not? I'm off to search the galleries... edit: appears not. They dont even have those awesome caps that seem to have come out of the factory pre-cracked. http://www.classiczcars.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=8220&sort=1&cat=all&page=1 I'm learning so much today.. I'm no longer suspicious at all about the car. Thanks for putting me in my place Ben. I think it will fetch over 10k. I say 12.

believe it or not
Hi Ben, I thought it could have been a dealer thing. Thanks for confirming! I thought all colour interiors came with black carpets? Unless those brown ones are on top of the originals of course.. But you'd think you'd take them out for photos. The vinyl in the rear over the strut towers has no diamond pattern.

believe it or not
No doubt it's a very straight looking car! I wonder about the replaced vinyl & carpets, reasonably worn looking steering wheel and black engine bay. Who wants to guess how much it'll go for?

Tokyo Auto Salon 2005
Oh, only the grey Z. You are beginning to sound like you're taking it for granted! Thanks for sharing the Tokyo Auto Salon pictures. I really like that roadster and the blue Z (is that the same one we discussed a while ago?). I can't say I like many of the others though!

Proof of the C110!!
Jason, 510 (rally car) is in it. As is the 240ZG, and the Fairlady 2000 Roadster. There was a website with all the cars in the game but I don't have it anymore. I'M PUMPED TOO!!

Police Version
I know this thread is old, but here's something on Yahoo Auctions Japan that could be of interest to some: http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f29909590 AV Translator gave me a few interesting snippets: "It is low travelling of miracle! Performance vehicle of S30Z western police! Real thing! The capital city high, the patrol car uniting the formation, will white パト of S30Z one probably know the fact that it is running with that famous ending scene which travels?" "1978 type travelling 8832 km 1 owner, it is genuine actual travelling!" "About 1 year half the genuine color (it is the feeling where just a little cream color enters into white) all it painted before, but as to before the that is picture 1, it was white パト specification. Picture 2 is the present form." (I'm guessing it no longer has all the police decals?) Hmmm?

Recommended method for a basic valve cover polish...?
Start at 600? Geez! I think you could start at a fair bit less than that. Use wet sand paper too. And take pictures (before and after)! So you can show off your work here afterwards.

Restored tool kit
From the album: Tool Kit
I also polished the rest of my tools, and cleaned up the vinyl bag as best I could. The result is a pretty decent tool kit. Certainly not like new, but a thousand times better than before. Am I missing any tools?
