At least you don’t have to worry about rust on the redwood pieces ?

It's an overstatement to describe this as a wood-bodied ZX like Hemmings chose to, but it's a Datsun where it matters: https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/03/12/hemmings-find-of-the-day-1979-datsun-280zx/ http://peterportugal.com/

If someone’s going to the trouble of cranking out phoney hubcaps, it would be thoughtful if they’d make them in 15”. ?- Looking for opinion on a body.
What Mark said. Unless you already have another car or a pile of significant parts, you’re in the market for one. This is a long way from home, and likely that’s why the current owner wants it gone, now that he’s scrounged everything usable. Steal it or keep looking.- 1972 Float Adjustment ...
Doesn't seem like needle valves would be causing the problem -- there are adjustments built into the carbs that can compensate for minor variance. Nice to have fresh parts for a thorough rebuild, but if the needle action feels smooth and even for both, cross them off the list and go back to the usual suspects.- 1972 Float Adjustment ...
Thanks for joining in, Bruce. Adding this to the thread gives everyone a fresh reference on how to approach a persistent issue. You should come out of your room more often ?- 1972 Float Adjustment ...
To de-clutter this thread a tad, the up-to-the-minute info from Z Therapy is that they have not offered Grose Jets in years. What's being discussed here is the older vs the current replacement version of the standard SU needle valve . The new one comes from a different source and is a little different in design. This photo compares the current version on the left to the OEM valve. Reference to Grose Jets in the ZTherapy video is outdated and should be treated as such. The Grose Jet is an entirely different critter.- 1972 Float Adjustment ...
Not wishing to hijack this thread, but is there a new Grose Jet? They went NLA awhile back — just curious.- Rally Suspension
Here’s another car to use for ideas, Dylan. https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/datsun-240-z- Rally Suspension
So we can put this item to rest -- here's the partial label positioned over a complete Nissan label. A little tweaking was necessary to allow for the condition of the original, plus there are minor differences in scale between the two.- Rally Suspension

So a mechanic was “trying” to tune the carbs and the pistons looked like this? Maybe I’ll butt out now ...- 1972 Float Adjustment ...

They’d probably welcome the input. Like most online magazines, blogs, webzines, or whatever they are these days, they rely on individuals to submit content which might only represent that one person’s knowledge or perspective. They do have a comment section, so tactfully pointing out inaccuracies might be the place to start their education. They’re Z fans, after all — maybe we can help them along ?- '75 S30 featured on Speedhunters
Another nice Z gets the spotlight from Speedhunters. http://www.speedhunters.com/2018/02/period-correct-z-perfection-from-ta-auto/- Re: MCK Recaro LX seats
For anyone who has looked at or bought the Recaro LX seats from ebay seller michikogoodproduct, this information about removing the headrests could come in handy: https://passionford.com/forum/ford-escort-rs-turbo/237664-remove-headrest-from-recaro-seats.html My order took the slow boat from Thailand to save shipping costs -- about 2 1/2 months -- but they arrived today and my first impression is very good. These are used Recaros that have been re-covered. Love the factory retro look -- the material and workmanship seem good quality. Still need the Wedge brackets to complete the install, but I'm freshly motivated! https://www.ebay.com/sch/michikogoodproduct/m.html?item=162904595739&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562 https://www.mckrecaroseatscars.com/- S30 project on Speedhunters gets updates
