  • About my Cars
My car is a 78' 280Z that has not ran since 2000. I purchased it from one of former student who knew my love for the car. SInce I am retiring this year, my first goal is to get it run with the engine that is in it.

  1. Also, I have ordered a fuel pressure guage to ensure the pressure is on point.
  2. Thanks guys for the support. I got it to start once I realized the timing was 180 out. However, it only runs if I pour gas in the intake. I did a continuity check on the fuel pump relay and it test bad. Can't find one. Is there a temporary work around the relay? Thanks
  3. 20220730_210302.mp4 Back at again. Listen to the cranking of the engine and advise me of what's missing to keep it from starting. Also, at the start of video you will hear knocking from the engine, if you know where that come from or caused by will help. The plugs are firing and the firing order is correct. All other electrical compontents check out. Thanks

      Also, the plugs are firing.

  5. @Zed HeadI tried the starter fluid and it didn't respond at all. I will test the plug and squirt the oil in the cylinders. Thanks for the suggestions
  6. This is the manuel section I followed to do the test. https://1drv.ms/b/s!AhGwIP-oI6Lc5DtsVXQSlaoxFFJw
  7. Just recently started back working on my 78 280. Got the fuel pump running. However, the engine will not start. Did complete the test of the engine electrical system according to the manuel, pages 30-40. All power sources check good based on the voltage and continuity test. In my trials, i have not had backfire or any reaction from the engine. Please advise of my next steps to start the engine. Thanks, James Que.
  8. @Mike. Thanks for you support with the pic and the option on the issue.
  9. Great, I will try your suggestion. I got the jumper idea from a YouTube video. Thanks for your time and effort.
  10. It doesn't run when I turn the key to start. It only ran when I used a jumper.
  11. Fuel pump will not run. However, It will run when I jump across relay #25230. Please advise if there are other possible solutions to the problem. See picture of the relay. 20211011_171534.heic 20211011_171534.heic 20211011_171534.heic 20211011_171534.heic
