The Jeep was it! The fight I was looking for started as a show to set up frank-I think it was on the airraid episode-but 10 years may have clouded my memory. The wedding was the last visit-I had forgotten that, what I remembered was when Sydney came to the 4077th to recharge his own sanity! Here is a link that will bring some laughter from way back when MASH was young! http://swamp4077.tripod.com/mashdialogues.htm

You got most of them-Iasked so many to have a few that might "go far" I confused an episode with Radars' mother in it for his sister-oops-hey they look just a like! I don't think the Sydney visit you are talking about wa the last visit-I am a little fuzzy too. Looks like this is what is left! M*A*S*H Trivia... Why was Sydney at the camp for the last time? What was Colonel Flags' first name? What did Radar try to ship back to the states? Who did Klingers' wife throw him over for, and what was his occupation. Why did Pierce and Honneycutt really have a fight? Hint, it didn't start out that way! Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea trivia... What was the Admirals' Name Who was the XO? Is he on TV now? What was the name of the submarine? What feature kept it safe more times than any other? What was the name of the radio man? Two more for Mash Who was Peg, and what was her daughters' name? Who hugged the stuffing out of Francis?

Horsepower!
Ayan, Welcome to the world of those who love Zs! One of the benefits of being in this world is something you have just found. There is a lot of seemingly contradictory information about our cars. The primary difference between the three horsepower ratings is the difference in how they were measured. Both are correct. The larger of the numbers was measured the old way, with the engine running with no accessories mounted-no exhaust. The smaller of the two numbers is the Horspower rating as the engine is sold in the car. The former is called "gross horsepower, and the latter is "net horsepower". Both measurements are correct for the engine, but under different circumstances. This club will be a great source of information, humor, and alternative views on every aspect of your car. Enjoy the ride! Will

Yes, it was all me! I was in PCB, Fla, picked up a scalop, and thought, "this is the color combo what I want for my ZX!" I found the carpet at Home Depot, bought a strip 5' wide, and carpeted the whole car with it(see it at hls30.com). The old headliner material was falling. I removed the headliner, pulled the rest of the fabric off, sanded off the rest of the decomposing foam, blew off the residue, coated the headliner with one thick coat of silver por15(heat reflective) and used the red can of 3M Weldwood as adhesive. It has been over two years-I did the headliner as a test before doing anything else cosmetic to the car-and it hasn't loosened. The Trim around the t-tops was not on all the way in the picture, the striations in the carpet are straight and parallel to the openings, and the trim spacing relative to the patern in the carpet are uniform. Keeping the paterns straight and the trim spacing uniform and mirror imaged really sets the work off! After living with it a while, the Maroon is too purple as it has faded, but I still like the carpet The t-top shades and mechanism covers will get the same carpet, but I will change the butgandy back to a red Thanks for the compliment, Will

Carpet: Is it possible?
That is a good point CoastGuardZ! Many of the carpet offerings at Home Depot and Lowes are fire retadant-just don't expect to find that info from the attendant-you have to look at and decipher the markings on the back, or contact the Manufacturer. As a side note, the finest cars out there have used wool carpeting-with no fire rating at all. In addition, the aluminized jute has the highest fire rating and most efficient thermal barrier of any readily available underlayment! Compare the quality of the automotive carpet to the home carpet-in most cases, there is no comparison-certianly not at the same price per linear yard.! Keep hitting me up for the details I leave out!

Adding turbo to non-turbo ZX motor?
I am not certian you didn't mean torque instead of HP. when HP changes-it is due to changes in torque-not the other way around. Adding HP does not necessarly add to gas mileage-the A/F ratio should be virtually the same in all properly tuned engines, thus a a bigger engine uses more fuel per stroke. A transmission made for a smaller hp motor(a Z transmission) moved between two motors capable of driving it properly (one moderate HP, and one High HP) will get better mileage form the lower HP motor because the # of revolutions the motor has to turn per mile is the same-regardless of the HP-but the amount of air and fuel used is different. The extra Hp will get you to speed faster, but will use more gas to do it, and to keep you there because the RMP between the engines at a given speed does not change.. All engines have one specific speed that uses the optimal resources for the amount of work actually being done. When the gearing allows a transmission to take advantage of or at least approach that speed you have the greatest gas mileage that engine is capable of. Raising the compression should add some torque and HPand therfor make driveability improvements-there are engine modeling programs (PCDyno) out there that will give some idea of what it should do with everything else constant. Don't forget the piston/ring land /ring design on the turbo version is not only set up for higher cyl pressures, but is thermally specked out too-get the heat out fast to lower the propensity for premature detonation! Turbo lag can be tuned out-a modern engine management system can be programmed for supplimental injection to dispose of lag(ad NOS and more gas to intake manifold, or CO2 to the turbo header, and you will spool the turbo up almost immediately at WOT.) or a turbo can be tailored to lower rpm driving. I think the true limiting factor of the 6cyl L series engine is the Head-that is where all of the current technology has been focussed-cyl wall treatments are virtually the same as they have been, Exhaust technology really hasn't changed, but we have multiple sets of valves per cyl, variable valve timing and more that has been added to the head, That is what is keeping power down in an NA engine, without forced induction, enough air will not move fast enough through the engine. If the head off a 6Cyl Olds Bravada would fit on a 6cyl L series, we would have a great new addition to performance-variable valve timing and programmable injection-I would consider transplanting the whole setup into a Z. We are all here to learn from, and chat with, each other, and I am glad you are here! The dumbest things anyone can do are: not ask a question, and ignore a question when they have an answer. I have some plans to update the materials of the interior of my car without changing the styling cues in shape. I am not yet there-the car is waiting for some time on its roof! I Hope it turns out as beautiful as your car!

Carpet: Is it possible?
I have the majority of the article done, but after letting someone read it who has no familiarity with carpeting a car. I found that I need to work on the clarity of a few of my explanations-since I am in the throws of the unclear parts on the truck I mentioned, I will shoot some video to take stills from. It will be the weekend before I have the chance to do this, so it should be posted on Monday. Will

When I am by myself, am I alone? Or are there two of us here? I guess it depends on whether or not a have multiple-personality disorder, and whether or not I believe that I do... If I did, I could go for a fast lap in the Z and race myself! Yeah, I know, somehow I just got sucked into it. I'm better now. What movie did Kevin Kline get sucket into a manly record(or tape)? Who is his real life wife?

To TomoHawk, It is actually too bad that to many people don't know that there is quite a difference between their use of similar words, and the proper use of the same words. They're putting the rest of us in a bad position, and we're aware of the two or more similar words with completely different meanings. It makes you wonder about the differences between where they were educated and where the knowledge we're blessed with came from. You're right if you noticed the verb change in that last sentence No, those are not your two gold stars! Keep pointing out errors, especially mine, I have found you get better when you play against better players, and that elevates the field! To the rest of you, if you can get a point across, you are doing OK!

Carpet: Is it possible?
I'll put a more detailed article up tonight, but I bought the carpet and adhesive from Home Depot/Lowes/Carpet Store, and the Bedliner form AutoZone, and the Heat shield from JC Whitney. They are available from other sources. Check Ebay for the generic form of HeatShield. If you have other questions, just ask. I am currently applying most of it to my in-laws truck. In the mean-time, check out my 280ZX carpeting at hls30.com-the carpet came from Home Depot, I even carpeted the headliner-I will upload a picture to my gallery. Will P.S. I will put a link on this forum to make the article easy to find.

Carpet: Is it possible?
I have done my own carpet for years! I got tired of having to accept cheep carpet kits that would not fit after insulating the floorboards and tunnels, I use 3M Weldwood Contact cement to hold the carpet and the pad in. I have found that the carpeting with a fade and stain guarantee is the lowest maintenance, but the carpet with a foam backing is the easiest to work with, and the best insulating. I use Urethand truck bed liner to seal the inside of the floors, it also deadens them to transmitted vibration, then I use HeatShield aluminized jute (shiney side down) to pad the carpet. I will post an article about this in the Technical articles forum
