  1. Yes it does. They’ve been rebuilt.
  2. Been driving for about a week now. I notice when I park and kill the engine, as soon as a lift my foot off the brake pedal I hear a deep “thud” coming from the back of the car. any idea what could be causing it?
  3. I tried to insure via USAA, they laughed but defered me to American Collectors Insurance. It mirrors my policy with USAA, and I can set the value of the worth. I set it up at $15k coverage, but may bump it up to $25k.
  4. Drove it to work yesterday, I don’t plan on doing it daily. Left early to minimize traffic (5am) and to get a feel of driving at night. Driving home at 330pm was a different story. Thumbs up, folks saying they’ve always “wanted a 240” at red lights. My route led me near a high school, where teenagers wanted to race. Given the Rebello’s lope, I’m guessing I’m going to need to get used to that. It’s amazing to see how small an S30 is compared to Teslas.
  5. Funny side note: I gave a shout out on FB to the garage who installed the exhaust. Another garage went into attack mode against the guys who did my install. Bottom line, if you say you could have done it better, then advertise your garage or speak up when potential customers are soliciting a service. Why attack a build done by a business competitor when you had an opportunity to advertise and didn’t?
  6. Update: took the Z for the safety inspection. It passed and I’ll get it registered Monday. I started the process back in July 2018 and finally met my goal. There are still things to fix, preventative maintainence, and such, but the car is driveable. I’ve learned a lot. I want to thank @Patcon @SteveJ @siteunseen @Av8ferg @Racer X and many others for mentorship getting this build complete. I’ve learned a lot from you folks. I really could not have done this without your wisdom.

  8. The banjo nuts were still leaking, even after fighting them. The new ones from Motorsport auto solved the issue.
  9. The discoloration on the tape on the right isn’t a shadow, it’s fuel.
  10. I wrapped them around. I wanted to see where specifically fuel was leaking from the banjo nuts, mostly for my understanding. New crush washers took care of the leak. The tape has since been removed.
  11. Exhaust installed. I’ll have a fiberglass shop trim the rear bumper appropriately. My big concern is the exhaust scraping when leaving the driveway, my Z32 had that issue. No clearance issues with my current setup on the 280Z. Inspection for registration will be this weekend. A few items to fix: *cigarette lighter socket isn’t working, need to work. *carpet padding in final installation. *clean up interior *replace the mount for rear louvers (right side plastic broke, removed louvers until it’s replaced).   12. Work has kept me busy for a little bit. PSI coming out was roughly 4. I’ve installed new crush washers in the carb. I used Teflon tape on the outside to see where the leak was coming from and now it’s good to go.
  13. I'm about to install a fuel pressure regulator... would the best location be before or after the mechanical fuel pump?
  14. It’s a second hand Rebello 3.0. I haven’t tested the compression yet. I believe it’s stroked around with 3.18.
  15. Thanks for the pointers. An update. I adjusted the floats appropriately per specs, had a mechanic friend assist (he be doing a lot for free/beer/steak/etc.) Zcar parts came in, gaskets and last chance filters. Installed them onto the carbs. The front carb almost immediately had fuel gushing through the vent line. Removed the front float and raised the metal tab, using the blow method. Rear carb had fuel leak, but found the source was the banjo nut where I installed the filter. Tightened it down. Car ran for 15 minutes about the same. Not sure if it’s lean, but it’s not rich. It’s probably within the ball park to take to a specialist for tubing. I installed the new Coolant Sending unit. Temp Guage now works. IMG_8276.MOV IMG_8277.MOV IMG_8275.MOV

  18. I have an electric fuel pump installed, but its currently not routed into the fuel system. It couldn't push fuel to the engine including the mechanical pump. But currently it only has the mechanical fuel pump running fuel to the carbs. The fuel running to the carbs is clean, my best guess is there was fuel in the bowls while the engine sat for 15 years.
  19. A few weeks ago the front carb did spit out fuel through the vent hose ontop of the float chamber. I'd assume the best place for a regulator would be after the mechanical fuel pump before going into the fuel rail?
  20. Exactly!!!! I’m waiting for rising sun performance to open this morning. I’ll call ahead and drop off the floats for them to set to an appropriate level. They do exhaust installation work so I’ll have them tune the carbs when I return to drop the car off.
  21. I hope I didn’t mess the floats up too badly. There is a Z specific shop about 5 miles from the house I can drive to and have them install exhaust and carb work. My primary concern/worry is leaking carb while driving.
  22. Where would the banjo fittings be that the last chance filter would be affixed to?
