enthusiast concentrate on engine bay ( now )
That is excellent value for $550. Looks great, clean and very original. Well done, wish there was somewhere in Australia that would do this for so cheap!

Hardtop rear window seal
try wreckers too and look for mitsubishi scorpion, from what i recall they use exactly the same rubber and steel channel/guide as 240K. saw one at the wreckers, figured it looked the same, fitted to my car perfectly. centre road wreckers in melbourne usually have a few on hand too...

Another 240K on eBay ( Coupe )
the blue 240K coupe off Gumtree was previously bought off eBay by the Kuwaiti guy here in Melb, had severe front end damage. He called me looking for a bonnet for it, didn't have one. Anyhow, he's repaired it and obviously on-selling. Went and checked out the brown coupe currently on eBay, just before Mansfield. I looked over the 3 sedans he had for sale as well, told me $2000 for the three cars. Says there was another person keen, but first person to his place Monday AM would get to buy them. So I head up with cash on a 3 hr drive, get there, he says he'll wait for the other guy to turn up in the evening and see what he offers! Jerk! Anyway, long story short, some guy named 'Drew' bought all 3 K's, plus 3 260C's, and an excellent C210 sedan. I personally don't think he sold them, I think he's now seen how much interest there is and he wants to hang on and get as much as he can. Out of the 3 K sedans, the best was a complete, very straight original 5 speed, slight damage to driver front guard. Only one of the other two was salvageable, the worst had what seemed to be forklift holes through all doors, dented roof, and severely damaged rear end, minus running gear. He also had 28 various Holdens there, varying from HG, HK, HT, etc, all complete too, and all under cover!

MR 240K, relax mate. I sold my car to an enthusiast for the price I needed to recoup costs as well, the 'opportunist' wanted it at a fraction of the selling price. Sorry if my remark about respecting honesty etc came across as a personal attack on yourself, I was speaking in general terms (although i can understand how within this particular topic you felt it was directed at you). Hey, we all have to make a living somehow, and when our means of doing so is cut off (ie employment) then other things are sacrificed in order to pay the bills! My point also was meant to demonstrate the value these cars are now reaching, far beyond what most of us imagined years ago. Unfortunately the supply/demand factor has well and truly kicked in, most enthusiasts (let's face it, if we had huge $$$, we'd be driving Ferrari's) are/were your typical middle class Datsun driver. Factor in demand from o'seas, there won't be many left in Oz in a few years.

swarf; there is a guy in melbourne who has shown me (on his phone of the cars at his house) nearly ALL of the 240K's purchased off ebay within the last 12-18 months are HIS(at least 15!) he's in melbourne, and he has been frank about what he does. quote "this is my business, i buy these cars and sell them to middle east". he buys them australia wide and keeps them at his place until either repaired to decent standard or immediately onsells overseas. when he was at my place a few months back looking at one of the wrecks i had, he was on the phone to a prospective o/s customer. speaking for myself, the ordinary guy has little to no chance anymore of getting a complete decent 240K, unless we pay the big mark up $$$. to him it's a way to earn a living, unfortunately for us it sucks big time :/ he has offered whenever i need parts to call him and he'd be willing to help out, although for how much! my point here is, i respect his honesty, he was honest enough and upfront not to bull$%$ me. i still don't like our K's going offshore though! oh, and NO, i didn't sell my K to him either, went to a local enthusiast

mate, no disrespect, but aside from the parts you've listed as additional sale items, how do you justify the almost doubling in price from when you first bought it a month or so ago? considering the manual conversion parts and other smaller original pieces, I'd say an extra $1500 max on top of your purchase price last month. i don't doubt this will sell even at $11k mark, some middle eastern dude will surely buy...good luck with the sale!

Terry's Project 240K
forget that link you just posted blk180, i seen this car yesterday, looks as though it sat in the ocean for a fair while, never seen so much rust on a car, my dad and i both surprised it hadn't just folded in on itself. actually all panels were like paper mache`! i salvaged the grille, struts and some interior bits but the rest is not worth anything, don't even know how it'll get onto a truck without collapsing, even the chassis is crumbling!

240K GT sedan
The one I looked at today is in country Vic, re-sprayed white, dark metallic blue original paint underneath. It's manual also, will get to look further into it when I get it home in a week or so. Body is very, very straight with minimal rust. Perhaps it was yours?

Terry's Project 240K
Ah yes, my apologies, if I recall correctly it's the mounting holes on the sedan which are wider, correct?

240K GT sedan
Hi guys I know we recieved 240KGT coupes early on, but has anyone seen or heard of GT sedans in Australia. I've seen these overseas, but not in Oz. Reason I ask is today I travelled out a bit and put money down on a supposed 240KGT 4 door sedan. Compliance please doesn't specify anything re GT, just 240K. Rear quarters have the usual GT badges in place of GL, door cards are embossed with 240KGT, dash is also embossed with Skyline instead of the usual Datsun on the top LHS. I suspect it may be a re-badged GL, but to get the dash and GT door cards wouldn't be easy in Australia. An import perhaps? Rear tail light panel & grille removed by someone earlier for the sought after GT lights and unique grille. I thought GT's had the same grille. I know 2000GT's or 2000GTX had different grilles with the Skyline insignia. Any info or if anyone can shed some light here would be appreciated, it's the first sedan I've seen or know of that's supposedly a genuine GT. Cheers

Terry's Project 240K
Rear tail light panel from sedan/coupe is not interchangeable, KID-K's is a sedan cut and shut job sedan is wider...

Hi guys been a little while and I know this is a long shot, but my Dad wants to see whether anyone out there in the 240K world knows of his old car. If you do or come across it one day, let me know, cheers It had, and may still have if still around, L28, 5 speed and triple Webers. I personally think it's been parted out or scrapped by now...
