My first meter was a BECKMAN back in the 80's... very reliable. I gave it to my father a long time ago and he still uses it. I now have a monster Fluke in the garage that is too much meter.... so I agree with SteveJ's list... they are just right. Fluke make a tiny one that seems useful and inexpensive called the 101. It would be great for your son or anyone that is a young'n ? https://www.fluke.com/en-in/product/electrical-testing/digital-multimeters/fluke-101 ~ $70-$100 new

432R has plexiglass windows (except front) to save weight... body is lighter too.

Yeah. Fluke is great. Even old used ones are tough, accurate and dependable.
  7. Hoover picked up this: $75 https://www.risingsunracing.com/index.php/storefront/2015-02-11-03-01-49/new-body-parts-2/product/30-new-datsun-roadster-inside-rear-view-mirror

The suggested items at the bottom are interesting. Janet and I can take pot shots at each other in our his and her man cave this Christmas. If you want to surprise us this Chrismas, we are more of a Johnny Seven gun-friendly family... vintage lawn darts are ok too.

I posted the pictures above as the gauge that goes to 10 is of interest ? and it happened to be a 432R... I'm not so interested in these cars so I have little on the Hoover bag. If anyone has an oil pressure gauge that goes to 10 BAR and wishes to swap for one that goes to 140psi please contact me.

  14. Thanks for the corrections. I did some further checks and it seems the G7B has a crossflow head? The drawing above only shows the outline of the "invisible" exhaust manifold (you really have to look for it) on the left side of the head below the intake; so the above drawing seems to be the earlier G7 without crossflow?

  16. From a reputable Motorsports Magazine: As an aside, Nissan's development team in the first half of the 1960s eagerly studied German engines. In the same way as for the Prince, the former preferred Mercedes and the latter preferred BMW. Of course, the L type uses the counter flow method learned from the Mercedes type. It can be said that the good productivity is reflected in the original design of Nissan. On the other hand, what I learned from BMW seems to have been reflected in the G engine. L20 Head

I'll remind you that the S20 engine was soon discontinued and the L24 went on to racing glory in its place, all over the planet. As well a famous Japanese racer mentioned early on that the L24 was the better racing engine. The S20 was a fine piece of machinery but the L24 did the job better with fewer parts.

Nissan did all a great service by adopting many ad hoc racing features on later Z's. Take a look at the Maxima N47 head and a welded-and-sculpted E31 head. Here is how shift levers progressed: F4W71A (front) F4W71B (back) 280z (FS5W71B on left) to 280zx (FS5W71B variant on right...with vibration damping spring)

Interesting. I thought the "DATSUN" stamped ones were aftermarket. Sorry I'm mixing up with the 240z stamped rubber mats.

So be it... this site is not reference site, it is the spirit of 片山豊 that lives here: "Love Z cars. Love Z people. Love Z life." . If you want to set up a more accurate and orderly site, I will pay for the domain and web space and get you or a friend of yours set up to start rolling it out. It is a shame that your knowledge, experience, and reference materials are not shared to the masses.... the Z world would be a better place!

I put it there because of the blocked off ports that were discussed earlier. If you want to do a 432-R tribute, it is a convenient part to have.
