  1. I'll dig into another die set and see. It seems very odd.
  2. Nope. It is from an E88 head on a 260z. My M8 X 1.25 die will only fit the outside threads when chasing.
  3. My M8 X 1.25 die works on all of the outside threads but not on any of the inside threads.
  4. Outside thread is M8 X 1.25 but Is the inside thread into head 5/16-20?
  5. Yes, do the inside vinyl before the glass. Look here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/topic/41040-roof-liner-header-liner-and-a-pillar-vinyl-installation/ The rubber seal has to go around the pinch weld (where the interior vinyl mounts ).
  6. I'll keep you posted. The guy was nice and sold me a set of D hubcaps and a rim from his 1970... VIN 147 parts gathering
  7. Thanks Jim... here is the car: http://www.autotrader.ca/a/datsun/1600/centreville/nova scotia/19_10497866_

Helping a friend sell his original owners manual from his 1970 240z. It is in excellent condition. Publish date is May, 1970 so it has the fast idle lever deletes rather than the pasted paper cover=ups. Best offer.
  9. Does anyone know the bolt size for the crank on a Datsun 1600 Roadster from 1967? I have to help a guy break the engine free.

  14. Sorry. CO you are right. I did not express it quite correctly. Here is the point I was trying to make: If the outside shell is stepped back, then the flange will draw in too far and bind. I mistakenly used outer race shell size rather than the step.
  15. These are the two measurements that need to be the same on both outside bearings. The green has to be the same on both inside bearings.

Cider pumps best in my neck of the woods.

Set up a timing cover and pump with water source and water tower. Turn each pump at same rpm to see which pushes water higher.
  18. This may be simpler image for seeing the loading faces. If the outer flange (right) is hitting the body then the inside or outside race on the outside bearing (green) is too narrow or the bearing is deformed.
  19. I am thinking bearing fitment as well. The inside width of the two bearings and the width of the spacer sum to give the correct spacing of the outer flange from the inner flange. If the outer bearing's inside width (left bearing below) is too narrow, the outer hub/flange will draw against the body of the strut.

I have an unmolested Nov 1969 240z with original glass, odd plastic near-prototype parts that I plan to sell in 2019 on the 50th anniversary. It is also in the designer's favourite colour.
