door mirrors
Great option and look on both the above Hardway. I like the top pair because they look very similar to the original drivers side mirror, but I love the bottom pair for the clean retro look! I have been so obsessed with trying to keep my girl original, that form often trumps function. Although I did finally add louvers to protect from the Vegas sun. But I have been reluctant to add anything that would need to be drilled. ( such as a mirror.) Having a right hand mirror would be nice, something I especially learned last weekend while driving in LA traffic while there for the z bash ! So where to draw the line between form over function? I guess that's a matter of taste, and the rigors of maintaining an original 240z. Thoughts? K The lil z lady

Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals needs show cars and race cars
Hi Chuck, I was just refered to you, I am looking for a list of parts and am hoping you can help! Unfortunately I'm too late to attend the show, but considering the amount of parts you will be showing, I wish I could make it! Since I can't, I thought I'd post the parts I'm looking for here. I will also PM you with the same list Hopefully you will get the list Thanks much, List Below: Those with **Asterisk most needed. Hi there I saw your Ad on Classic z car community, Of which I'm a member, and I thought I'd shoot a list of items I'm looking for for my 1972 240z... Lmk if you can assist with finding any of the following parts **1. left front bumper mount (bracket) , rear bumper if the chrome and rubber is good 2. Headlight conversion to brighter more up to date lighting. 3. Full bumper rubbers front and rear bumpers (see photo below, only rear bumper rubbers shown, but also need front rubbers (see below photo) 4. Rear bumper with bumper guards if chrome is in good shape. **5. a working and in good shape power antenna 6. full surround fan shroud, and fan in good shape. 7. wood steering wheel, and horn mechanism 8. wood 4 speed shifter, 9. horn pad and horn mechanism 72 240z 10. choke lever in good shape for a 72. 11. A 3 core aluminum radiator with fan or steel like the photo below 12. Valve cover 13. air cleaner cover (orange) **14. Any white interior panels or vinyl including seat covers **15. Rear deck strut (strong) for holding up rear deck lid **16. A/C set up New or working R134 conversion to replace my R12 **17. Center caps for Black Pearl wheels or the like. (Any number will do) please see photos below for comparison. 18. Original z chrome or slotted wheels/ or mesh mags **19. Original chrome side mirror/mirrors or fender mirrors 20. Japanese or Datsun metal medallions ( not the z emblems, just not sure what they are called? ) 25. Original decals (need a replacement for my 110 paint) I'd also be interested in other original Datsun decals, as well as those like the ones from the factory? If I remember, one says OK with a check mark, and was put in a corner window once the car was inspected? Anything else like that. See #9) I'm also looking for a 3 core fan with fan/fans built in, prefer aluminum, but the set up below will do / if not, I need a full fan shroud, new fan. (I currently have a new steel 3 core, but it's not keeping the car cool in the Vegas heat, especially with the A/C running. So I'm open to ideas. I hope you can take a look at this list and send me a list of items that you may have with prices and description. After looking at pictures of your tables there, I see a bunch more of interest, but alas.. To far to travel in time. If there is anything you think might interest me based on wanting to bring my z back to original, but making it interesting, please feel free to send a photo and pricing. Im very much looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you! Kira The lil z lady Las Vegas NV

Need original power antenna for 72 240z
Thanks Patcon, I don't know why I couldn't locate, but I appreciate the link. I have many parts I'm looking for, should I send him my whole list? Or just the antenna request? Thoughts? BTW, where is this show located at? Would they be interested in a pretty cherry classic original (not a ton of upgrades done, just a nice original car? Lmk, if so, and depending on date and local, I'd be interested in showing my car! Appreciate your input on both questions

Need original power antenna for 72 240z
Hi Z friends! I would like to find an original working power antenna for my 72 240z. I need all parts if possible. I have tried aftermarket antennas and either don't like the look or have had trouble making them work with my up/down switch on my original a.m./f.m. Stereo. Anyone out there have a working antenna they have replaced and no longer have a need for? Ok Z pals... Do your thing, my girl is missing hearing her music! Thanks! K The lil z lady

21st Annual Motorsport Auto Z-Car Show
James! What an awesome show! It was our first, but we were throughly impressed! We saw too many beautiful Z's to count! Just a thought for next year... Give out flyers to each driver with a schedule of the day's times for drawings, prizes and awards. So people can make their way to the stage for announcements. We just happened to be up front when they started naming winners. I would also suggest that winners are given notice ahead of time, so they can bring up their cars up for a photo op while being awarded trophies. Would be nice pictures for the Z store to post after the show and to promote the next years z bash! Also would be fun to have a meet and greet over beer and pizza (or other) either Friday or Saturday evening, to give z owners a chance to interact, visit, brag and meet new z friends. We met so many great z people at the bash, but there wasn't enough time to talk and show the car as well. So having this kind of an opportunity might be really great! Just some ideas! We had a blast! We will defiinately plan for next year! You guys did an amazing job with organization and venue! Thanks again! K The lil z lady

2016 Z-Bash Car Show!
I'll be attending the Canyon cruise as well! Z's, Z's everywhere! How cool! Aongch, where are you coming from? What does your z look like? I'd love to come say hi and introduce myself! I'll be in a 72 240z paint code 101, or red as Datsun calls it, but it's more of a persimmon color. White interior, rally wheels, louvers... I'm a petite blond about 5' tall. Come say introduce yourself if you can K The little Z lady

Help Identify this part! Need Your expertise!
Yes, I agree Zed, the above posts and your discription of the problem in your pathfinder make sense! So now I know what I need to try next. I'll also ask my z mechanic if he pulled it apart and checked. As I said I wasn't there until the end. Mill keep u posted and let you all know what I learn, what works, and what doesn't work. Thanks much Zed! K

Help Identify this part! Need Your expertise!
Terrapin you are always so helpful and knowledgeable! I appreciate the photos! The front contacts look good.. Not corroded at all! But I haven't pulled it apart or looked at the back side. I also was not there when my z guy was troubleshooting, so I'll have to ask if he pulled it apart? I was just there at the end when we tried to honk the horn. So I will try cleaning next, then, if not successful, I'll try Marks suggestion to make sure the horn itself is working properly with no shorts. Am I on track with the above suggestions? Pulling the mechanism apart before I leave for the z show unfortunately might not happen, as I am tackling several last minute updates since the z has had a complete tune up, paint. We are finishing putting all the peices back on the z... Bumpers, louvers, etc in preparation for the show. I'm having the A/C repaired this morning, and that is taking more time then thought, so all the other things planned for today are delayed. Sigh... U know how it goes when there is a deadline. I'll keep u all posted on my progress and come back with any additional questions. If interested, I plan to post photos after the z is completed and ready to roll Thanks again to all for helping to walk me through this particular issue. K The lil z lady

Help Identify this part! Need Your expertise!
Hi Mark, and Zed! Thanks for weighing in! Mark, good idea, and thinking perhaps that is the next step. Zed.. No, I was there when this happened, it would beep, then stop when pushed? As for my horn pad, there was a crack I. The interior plastic, but I did repair it, so I'm thinking that should no longer be a problem. So if I understand, are you saying that perhaps I only have a bad spring? If so, where can I find a proper replacement? Thoughts all? Appreciate the continued support! K The lil z lady p.s. Getting ready to show her at the LA Z Bash on Friday! I hope I can complete all the last minute prep before I go !

Help Identify this part! Need Your expertise!
Ok z friends, an update on my horn finally, and getting this thread back on track... (I apologize for derailing this thread slightly by posting pictures of my z's progress, just having so much fun and wanted to share with those I know feel the same way. ) Ok back to the horn. It's getting power, the horn will beep, then stop. My mechanic, a knowledgable z man, thinks my horn mechanism under the pad, is worn and needs to be replaced. Sigh! So im back to square one it seems. So I guess I'm in need of the whole horn mechanism. Can anybody offer any help on how to find one? They come up on eBay rarely, and when they do, they are usually expensive. I haven't found them on any of the z specialty on line parts stores either. So, where to look? Does anyone have one they don't need? I'll keep watching eBay, but if anyone has any suggestions, I would gladly welcome them! Thanks to all for previously weighing in with your thoughts and comments.. Now that you have helped me have claify the problem, I now know I need a new horn mechanism/assembly. For reference: 1972 240z Share your expertise my friends! Thanks much, K The lil z lady

Hi there my dear z friends! i need your help! You have come through for me on this restoration of my 1972 240z, in so many areas, and I need your help once again! I purchased a z appropriate replacement antenna, we installed it today in prep for the Z bash in LA on Friday. So bummed to learn that the new antenna is bad. i plan to put a proper z antenna in upon return from Z Motorsport or the like... but Id like a working power antenna for the trip. I don't have time to get an antenna shipped in time. Any suggestions as to any chain auto parts or auto stereo places that might carry a power antenna I can use. Such as Oreillys.., etc? I'm in Las Vegas Your speedy help is not only needed quickly, but so appreciated! Ok fellow Zer's do your thing! K The little z lady
