In the grand scheme of things.....good, as I have the money and the car is having the chassis work done now. In a more here and now sort of way, everything is still f*ucking up! The car got broken into at the panel shop, nicked my speakers and steering wheel. Add there have been delay after delay at the panel shop too. But what else would you expect from a panel shop? Then my$2.5k mountain bike got nicked last weekend.....

The japanese got the Z32's in 89. The yanks didn't get them till 90 it seems. This one was imported from japan. The bin file contains the contents of the eeprom on your ECU. It's what tells your motor how to run. It contains all the fuel maps, ignition maps, limiters and heaps of others.

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have a bin file for an 89 300ZX TT auto? Oh yes....and preferably jap spec.

Any chance anyone has an early Z32 ECU lying around? It's for an 89 TT auto. It's a long shot I know....worth a go.

Yeha I know what you mean. I was just stating that as a generalisation. I would have thought that the US gets the NA V8 as that's what they seem to go for. Larger NA motors as a pose to smaller boosted motors? Or maybe that's just what nissan believes. Same reason the US got the KA24's as a pose the the SR20DET in the silvia's.

TKR514: To generalise a bit, the reason is that a smaller capacity boosted motor, is going to be more so "stressed" than a larger capacity, lower reving NA motor. The more highly stressed an engines state of tune, the greater the importance of proper maintenance on it. Personally I feel rather strongly that they should stick to a turbo 6. Mind you I wouldn't trust what comes out of wheels mag. Different mags have been telling us what motor would supposedly be in there for ages now. AFAIK the V8 idea was dropped a while back, and they were going to go for a twin turbo VQ33. Really though...it's just a guessing game till nissan officailly tells us.

Oh right....will get back to you if I can sort something out.

Price sounds good to me. Unfortunatly since I am in townsville I can't inspect them or pick them up myself. Any chance you'd be able to get a photo of them? I gather where you say the rest is rusty, you just mean surface rust? Not deeper structural rust? Thanks

I'm also thinking of going a better cam for my L26. What sort of money are we looking for the other bits and pieces needed such as valve springs, rockers and lash pads? Will the low compression of the L26 be a problem?

As in subject. I don't care if they are 2nd hand or not....just as long as they are in resonable condition.

I know that feeling. Drunkenmaster: That looks a hell of a lot better than the dodgy repairs that were done under my car. Btw....they start work on the new rails/floor pan/rad support/inner wheel arches mid next week.

Sorry to hear bout the zed. On the topic of the 200ZR.....they'd have the NICS RB20 right? Two of my friends are currently working on an ADR file to allow you to rewrite the NICS EPROM. So far they have the fuel and spark maps, load bands, VQ maps and a few other bits and pieces. Still have yet to find the limiters. Anyhow if you do end up buying the car, gimme a yell as these computers do need a bit of remapping with a big turbo strapped on.

Try and find a zed that's already had the rust work done....will save you $$$. I learnt this lesson the hard way.
  21. Isn't the only big difference between the 240z and 260z dashes just around the center console area? Personally I thought the 260 looks better.
  22. Where abouts in QLD are you? I know of a cheap 260 2 seater in Townsville.
  23. My sister and her other half live in morningside.....might have to get Paul to go check it out for us.
  24. I had a similar problem with my zed at about 4:30 in the avo, the day before I had to drive it 1400km home. After some hair pulling we realised it was just the indicator relay (pod). Pulled the one out of Paul's Ford Laser and off we went. Mind you the actual indicator switches could use a good clean as they wont go on with out a decent shove. Just another item on my to do list.

Howdy. Being fairly new to Z cars I don't really know of too many places to buy Z parts from. The one I know of are The Zed car workshop in Brissy and All Z parts in sydney. Any other good ones?
