  1. Before balancing carbs you have to check all the other variables, you have done that exept a compressiontest. (?) Now i hear you say.. but it's a new rebuild block, yes but people make mistakes. I once asked the same a mercedes driver with a new not working rebuild engine, at first he got a bit angry.. IT'S A NEW ENGINE.. yes i sayd but people make mistakes.. later on it ran and the engine builder had made a woopsie.. my advice is check and double check.. don't assume, just check a list of things that could be wrong. Everyone is blaming the carbs, they could be right but it could be so much other things why the car does not pull.. On the old carbs you have.. rebuild them, use them on your block for testing and later on you can sell those for more than you paid for the rebuild.. you can get rebuild sets easy for them! good luck! Mart.
  2. A short word to aluminium radiators and the people who are selling them.. they say it works better than the original.. i doubt that!!.. the original is made of copper and is a much better heat-conductor then aluminum (as you call it 😉 ) One can not expect a 200 dollar aluminum radiator is as good as the original copper one.. I would always prefer the old second hand copper radiator above the alu junk (most are..) radiators that are sold cheap.. My own 240z has a copper one.. in there for more than 22 years.. (posible is it the orig. from 1971.. i don't know..) but if it's gonna leak i have a new one in stock.. or i would repair the old one with a new core im sure!
  3. Haha, only the red nose is failing haha.. funny.. BOJO !! 🤡
  4. Yep.. I had my 240z 1971 distributor cleaned up 20 years ago and... IT HAD ONLY ONE SPRING IN IT.. May be a modification from Nissan? Could be that there is something in the service bulletins Nissan regularly brought out? ?? I to wondered then why only one spring but i did'nt change it in 2 springs and it ran and runs still with one spring till this day!
  5. You wash it first in normal washingmachine detergent.. And if needed you could also use some sunflower oil. 😉
  6. I also read that after emptying the tank (in a 280zx and maybe also the 280z because it's the same system) and/or run out of gas you have to fill up the tank at least half way! Otherwise the pump will NOT get any fuel, just wanted to ad that!
  7. I just sold my beautiful new set of fendermirrors for the price of 900 euro (or 1080 dollar) !! ( Thats always better then about 1700 euro when you would buy them from Japan (and thats with custom and transport costs..pfff ))
  8. Like to here from you what they say...
  9. What was the first then? What you say? NOOOOHH!!! The first was electrician! Yes really! At the first day god made the light in the darkness, and WE (electricians) had already installed the cables for it!! 😂

And.. TIP! check the seal with a small piece of paper between the hatch and close it.. if you can pull it out very easy.. thats wrong the paper should have some resistance then it seals at that spot! Paper of just an inch width is best to use!
  11. i fount tis wann es wel (i found this one as well, yeah i know.. 😉 ) This one is for left hand drive. AND.. totally the oposite of your found rhd.. (EDIT: no is the same.. .... Oh .. well, i'm sleepy still as i can't sleep with all the ringing (tinnitus) in my head..pfff...) For as far i know these where never sold on a LHD car?? just asking myself (And if you or anyone knows leave a comment!) Hey Ali, leev a comment! 😂 )
  12. Yeah 😉 but i say: reeediculous... it's ridiculous to say riiiidiculous ... 😂😂 THANKS Ali, I was just looking for a pic of that !!!!! Nice very good! I'll make a print of that. I just read that @wheee! has the same problem.. (In: restoration of a 280z) maybe he can learn from your experience.. 😉
  15. Never seen that before.. haha hope to never see it again. ieksss..
  16. Beautiful car.. (i think the only beautiful corvette, from the older ones..) very UGLY UGLY UUUUUGGGLLLLYYYY wheels...pffff... I Really don't like this and it drives horrible i bet!
  17. Also look for air leaks in your air/fuel inlet. The rubber parts, particularly between the ribs of the rubbers, a smal cut in the rubber WILL influence your engine speed and it runs horrible. If you think you found something spray some carb cleaner on it, if the idle is changing, then there is a airleak.
  18. Hihi.. yeah.... But Dutch is in a simular way.. I remember that i used to say jam.. (Say J-A-M.. at once.. J without your D!) we say sjem.. you say djam (like the strawberry-JAM.. ) but i got corrected in time, i was about 8-9 years old then haha..
  19. Thats GOOD, I like to learn it correct! The bloody english language haha.. in the '90's i had some english neighbors ( ALSO neighbours! ... tsss... what is it then? "o" or with "ou" both are correct... mmppffff...) and i often spend some time with them, i leant a lot of english and they where (or were??) very bad in Dutch.. Yeah the older they are the more difficult it gets .. Nice arrester you made there! I have to make one one day.. i hope i get to it one day but there are 2 other cars that need to be serviced and waxed first pfff...
  20. You...double clicker.. 😂 SUBMIT Reply.. just once Alan ( is it? )
  21. Hi, Ticking noise from the injectors is common, but i can't really say what i hear in your video.. then you have to make another one where you keep the mic/camera close to the injectors and cam cover also.. Did you know that those injectors all fire at the same time? they do!
  22. I checked and they have the 3 holes for connecting to the head. These pumps are new in box if anyone want one (2 for sale) send me your offer in a PM.. i may consider to sell them for it.. partnumber is : 17010-S3085
  23. Did you write this under my single line? (Reply #19) i guess.. otherwise @Mike there is something wrong.. Your cassette player will need a bit of grease and a new belt at least.. that's my experience anyway. The radio a new lamp for the display. If you find a good cassette just wind it a few times up and down before you use it in play mode. Clean the head of the taperecorder with alcohol and a cuetip also the rubber roller check it for wear, it has to be smooth and clean, i always let the taperecorder run on play and let the rubber wheel against the capstanaxle "eat" the wet in alcohol cluetip so it winds around it and let it run a few minutes.. Some rubber wheels will be to old and desintegrate, then you have to look for a new one... After clean stop the recorder and take out the wooly stuff of the axle carefully!
  24. Is your radio and cassette also still working ? Nice car , i only would get rid of the red interior.. Here we call it a Wh***house interior... oeps.. 🙊
  25. I know i have one of each used! but in good condition. (besides of the 3 new atsuki pumps.)
