Hmm, I want to tell you some that I have been thinking of, but then I won't be able to get it. Oh well, here they are. 1. 2404lyf 2. 240z4lyf 3. s304lyf 4. Ilovemy240 (I think you can use the heart symbol for love to make it fit) 5. Zweet (thanks Zrush) I can't think of anymore. How much is it anyway to get a custom plate? -Ben :classic: p.s. I don't own a 240 so it is okay.

Thanks guys, yeah the fuel line heat wraps are original. Some one told me that they have esspestice(don't ask) in them for the insulation I am assuming. Is this true? -Ben

Carl, the ignition wires are NGK brand. I think it is a pretty well known company? 2manyzs, I don't think I am going to be polishing anything more. I am trying to give it that OEM look. It is a 260 with a lot of 240 engine parts, but I am still trying to keep it as stock as possible. The reason I thought Dando's was pretty good was because they informed me about anything that they thought needed to be done, they were true to the price, and they got my car running better than it ever has before. Knock on wood. Carl, if you are wondering about a carb mixture and adjustment it cost 140USD. I don't know if this is out of line, but I thought it was not too bad. Next time I am planning to watch the SU video and do it myself. I really do wish I knew more on how to fix these cars. School takes up my time, so I guess when I get out of school and settle down I will have some weekend time(I hope) for these kinds of projects.

Hey guys, I was going to update you on my car. I took it to the shop and I told them about the dieseling and that I had a leaky diaphragm in the fuel pump. I was on a budget, but I wanted it done right. I thought that would help if I told them that. How wrong was I. they replaced the Balance tube with an earlier balance tube and removed the air compressor for the smog equip. in the process. They also did a full carburator adjustment, replaced the exhaust flange gasket because it was crushed, and blocked off the mechanical fuel pump with a plate. The mechanic shop that I took it to is called Dando's automotive in Fremont, Ca. All in all I am very pleased with the work that they did besides the bill. They were very helpful and they did not do any work without my permission which was very nice because I was not surprized with the price when it was completed. The car drives better than it ever has before. My next project that I will hopefully do late this summer is replace the exhaust system including the exhaust manifold and coat the gas tank. I have never really gotton my hands dirty, but I have the microfiche CD, and a factory service manual, so I am hoping to do this work myself. Give me your guys input and take a look at the pic of my engine with the new balance tube. It is shiny unlike the rest of the engine. When I got the tuneup the mechanic used blue wires, but I wish they were black. errrr. Oh well. Thanks for all your guys help. Regards, Ben:classic:

I went to the bookstore yesterday and they did not have it. You guys settle down because you may pop a blood vessel. No anurisms aloud(I can't spell). Ben:classic:

  9. I seriously don't know why someone does not buy these. $150USD for 14 by 7's??? In this good of shape according to the pictures??? That is a steal. It would probably be around $50USD for shipping in the US. -Ben p.s. Zsonthebrain, are you sure those are 14 by 7? They sure look like they are 14 by 5.5j or 6j to me. I could be totally wrong.

There has to be a new sports car out there that you guys like. I have not driven many new sports cars so I cannot tell you how they drive, but I have sat in many. hehehehe. Many of the things that everyone here has said I have agreed with, but a good thing about the 350z is that is carrying on the name of our cars, "Z." Some of you may not think that it is anything like the S30, and I agree with you, but having the 350z and Z's to come is a way to keep the history alive(or dead for some) because many people have 350's and are becoming fans of the S30. About a year ago I saw two 350z's driving on the freeway and I got a thumbs up from them. I must admit, I like the 350(am I hearing boo's and hiss's??), and when they gave me thumbs up I was thrilled that they were interested in the old Z's. They got a thumbs up and a trailing old school Z for about 10 miles. If I was in the market for a new car I don't know if I would consider a 350z, but a few new cars that I think I would consider are the Honda S2000, the Lancer Evolution(Evolution RS for tomohawk as it has no amentities whatsoever), the Subaru STI, the Jetta VR6, a Works Mini, and probably a lot of other cars. I like way to many cars, but my 260Z is dearest to my heart. Take care guys.

  13. I realize that the vin # is extremely low, and I know that is the reason why Carl Beck was implying not to do any modifications. However, the modifications that 26th has described are very traditional, and besides the wheels, the parts are Nissan S30 parts. I don't want to speak for 26th and his Z, but I get what you were trying to say Carl, and I agree with Carl Beck and 26th I guess. I am only assuming, but it seems that 26th is making it how he wants, but being able to have it modded or oem stock when ever he chooses because the parts are all bolt on. Correct me if I am wrong 26th because it is not my place to speak for you.
  14. I think you should make it the way you want. I am planning to do a few mods to my car, but almost completely stock everywhere else. Someday I would like to have a set of wats and set of the steelies. You are going to have an awesome car. By the way, what is the steering wheel you are planning to get? Compe ? I would like to mod my car exactly as you are doing and don't listen to Carl. There is nothing wrong with making the car your own, after all it is your car and you are keeping it pretty much stock? IMO I would opt not to lower it. I think Z's with wats look great with some 70-75 sidewalls and no lowering. It gives it a much more period look. The stance of Guus's rally Z is my opinion the optimal stance. Take care, Ben:classic:
  15. You got some watanabe's 26th? Those are going to look splendid on your car. Congradulations. I too would love a set of those Kobe Sieko wheels. The ones in picture looked in pretty bad shape from the auction if they are the ones I was thinking of. -Ben

Hello Craig, I am seriously thinking about going, and I would love to caravan. I am not for certain that I am going, but I don't know if I would go on Friday. Do you have reservations yet? If we did go on Friday what would be the agenda for Friday night/ Saturday? Anyways, there should definately be a classicZcar club meet up. It would be neat if all of the czc members parked next to each other. Take care, Ben
