  2. Pinch the hose to keep the fuel in it while you reattach it.
  3. Uh oh. Maybe it's not too deep?
  4. Dash pot rod may need adjustments. The white plastic thing with an open hole that looks like there is hose missing. Or maybe the BCDD?
  5. I'm pretty sure that's straight 30 weight. Not multi weight. A lot of folks use ATF.

There's a hump next to the plug threads, I believe. Do a google image search and you'll see it I can post a picture later. I'm away from my February '72 E88 now. Sorry.
  7. I agree with that. I removed that heavy front bumper before installing the spoiler, it would get a little squirrelly when the wiper blades lift off the windshield. But now it's steady as a rock when the wipers do their dance. I'm going to have to find spoilers for the wipers.

I think Jasper is engine replacement chain. I've heard of them before.

It has both of the larger valves. It would bolt right onto a 2.8 block without any work but I'm putting it on the 2.4 block which requires some extra grinding so they won't hit the smaller bore of the 2.4. Bore releifs, notching the block and valve releifs are some of the terms I've heard so far. As for other changes I'm adding a better breathing cam coupled with it's accompanying componets. I should add that a smaller cam isn't necessary, I'm just bored. It's been a long winter.
  10. Ouch! Got you to look though. Have fun where/when you can.
  11. Best deal I could find for my 280. here's the 240 one, http://www.jegs.com/i/Xenon/456/3124/10002/-1?CAWELAID=1710853592&CAGPSPN=pla&catargetid=230006180000850493&cadevice=c&gclid=CjwKEAjwotmoBRCc6LWd2ZnkuBYSJACyt2qusia8RT1uX50mNzbupnSjO3PDbNCoJKWO4TE5qmr4jhoCwHvw_wcB The old thread, http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/49007-front-air-dam/

A bad thought but somebody that knows him and where he kept his car.
  13. After reading through this, http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/distributorrebuild/index.html, I spent $100 for a newly remanufactored one.

I'm doing an E31 now, or a machinest is. They need the bronze intake vale seats replaced with steel, very basic start. I am going with the big valves like your P79 has. If you wanted to you could have the bottom of the P79 cut to raise the compression but you'd have to raise the height of the cam with shims to compensate. Member "Dizeased" has done a few and loves them but he goes all the way with his, all new cam and valve train componets. One day I'll hopefully be able to try his build. Here's a picture of one of his.
  15. Water-rooster. LMFAO!
  16. Just make sure and put the bolts back into the same holes. It's an easy job. Take the four nuts off and remove the fan clutch with the fan still attached.
  17. If you can spin the fan more than one or two rotations by hand it's most likely bad. A new fan clutch won't even turn a complete rotation in my experiences. If it's running on the hot side (verified with thermometer in the radiator) more than 200 degrees you should have it boiled out or replaced. A shroud is tremendous help in my opinion. My temp gauge reads hot but they're known to do that. Take the cap off and stick meat thermometer in and let the thermostat open. Mine shows 175 degrees idling in the garage.

Here's the bumper brackets. I'll get some more pics when I'm around the car with a camera.
  19. Those are $20 parts at any parts store or online at amazon or rockauto. Get the cast impeller water pump, it'll last longer.

My car has the original overspray everywhere. The most obvious is the rubber that covers the wiper motor. The bumper brackets are black and orange. The gas cap flap is orange on the underside and on and on. I think it's kind of neat.

That's a fine looking car. It even has a cup holder. Looking back over that, did they come with a fire exstinguisher at the front of the driver's seat? Mine didn't have one but it's about to. That's a perfect spot.
  23. Here's the part number, http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsuns30/DatsunZIndex/Brake/HandBrake/tabid/1732/Default.aspx Here's the google results, https://www.google.com/search?q=36541-E4101&rlz=1C1BOFA_enUS494US494&oq=36541-E4101&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8 $7 from Courtesey Nissan. Just about everytime Courtesey can get something, my local Nissan dealership can too. Just make sure and have the part number before you call.
  24. If you could figure a way to get that guitar to turn the knob on a potentionmeter, that'd be cool. I've got kazoos on mine.

I used to go to New Orleans a lot and leave my BMW parked for weeks at a time in "park and pay" lots. Always pulled the coil wire off and put it in my suitcase. Center caps off the wheels went into the trunk. Luckily I never had any attempts that I could tell.
