  1. They're doughnut seeds.
  2. I too bought the 16x7 Rewinds from Discount Tires, Wheel Details - Discount Tire Direct The cheapest highest rated 205/55-16 tires and valve stems, after all the rebates and a $60 debit card for using their credit card which got instant approval and 6 months interest free to pay them off. $689. You can buy the exact same lug nut set off e-bay for $27 instead of $45 from Direct tire, 16 12x1 25 Silver Lug Nuts Mod Tech Gline Konig Wheels | eBay So all in $716 and very happy, no rubbing with that size tire. Look at the same wheel at MSA and they say the largest tire is the 205/55s. I like them better on the 280, a little too big for the 240 in my opinion. If you have a Lowes credit card it's the same company, GE Financial and you'll get approved as soon as you hit SEND.
  3. Get the rebuilt ZX dizzy, $100 from amazon.com. Points are for lawn mowers.
  4. rossiz I can tell you're gonna end up with a 240Z. 280s wet my whistle but the 240s are the ones to have. Reading your enthusiasm for the S30 design I think you will want the purest form. With the knowledge you're absorbing, like a sponge, you'll find a good one too. Cheers, Cliff
  5. 1st place! Can't beat that.

I'd snatch that up if it looks as good in person. Probably get it for $1,000 too. I think that's the 1st Z I've seen with the white walls out.
  7. After some reading, I get the E-Core technology Zed Head suggest and the tried and true experience of Arne. It's 1.4 ohms too. Crane Cams PS20 Performance Coil features performance ignition coils. They feature Crane's special E-core design, which loses less voltage, so more spark gets to the plugs. The coils also have large-gauge wire windings for maximum spark current and voltage, with better heat dissipation at high rpm. An insulated connector and high-tension tower protect against high-voltage arcin. They are solid-epoxy encapsulated for shock and vibration protection. These coils are specially designed for use with capacitive discharge (CD) ignition systems Amazon.com: Crane Cams 730-0020 PS20 Performance Coil: Automotive
  8. I'm needing YOUR DICE, if it were your's what would you buy? 0.6 ohms, 1.5 ohms or 3.0 ohms? Amazon.com: pertronix coil Mr Moore you make a good point. I was typing when you posted.
  9. Will you go back to the ZX distributor? I went ahead and got a re-manufactured from Cardone after my junkyard find was JUNK, imagine that. I'm a little nervous putting it in a 240 and the tach still working.
  10. You guys are great! I went to check the junkyard distributor once more before I put it in. Took the vacuum advance dash pot set screw loose to see how easy it would push back and forth. Found a BB. Damn! I was already primed for auto maintenance too, I gave it a nice spa treatment instead. It was drinking wax like I was drinking beer. We both had a good time.
  11. I'm sorry for posting so many questions on this but I can't find an answer about the Ohms needed for the Flamethrower coil. Do I want the higher Ohms or the lower Ohms for a 240Z with the ZX distributor. They go from 3 Ohms to 0.6 Ohms. Thanks for the help, Cliff
  12. You mean that's some kind of "There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply.", chrome? Thanks Blue. I watched Old School last night, thought of you and L'dOL when Frank the Tank screamed "Blue!, you're my boy!"
  13. Did the Flame Thrower get along nicely with your OE tach? Is the stock one for a ZX or a 240? Thanks Steve
  14. Would a Flame Thrower like you have on your '77 be a good one? Like this one with the lowest ohm 0.6, http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/pertronix-pertronix-45001-flame-thrower-ii-coil-45-000-volt-0.6-ohm-chrome-45001/10110876-P?searchTerm=flamethrower
  15. I'm about to install a ZX distributor in a '72 240Z and was reading that I need a ZX coil also. Is there one that's nicer to the old tachometer in my car or does it matter? Thanks for any replies, Cliff
  16. Thanks for that read. I guess the only real ones were the orange one from Cleveland and the one in Dubai? "All a new owner needed for the full Z-car time-travel experience was a few stray roaches in the ashtray and Santana's "Abraxas" on the 8-track." I need an 8-track.
  17. If you have some pictures of the car you should put them up for the club members to see. You'll be amazed at what all these folks could tell you from looking at them. I just put a "gas pump" on my '72. It has the A/C compressor mounted on the passengers side firewall and made a simple 3 bolt swap out a major job, for me anyway.
  18. I bought a Z a couple of weeks ago and it revs fine but would sputter on the road. Bought 4 Fram G-2 fuel filters and threw them in the tool storage with a palm electric screwdriver. I'm on the 3rd one as of last night. I'm hoping I'll get all the crap out of the tank through those filters, I mount them where the OE one goes by the fuel pump for a quicker swap. I have a finer screen glass one right before the pump but it stays clean. Slow fuel flow leans them out when under load.
  19. It was a tough fight but I won! after loosening that big old bracket, dropping the alternator and removing the fan and water pump. If that thing didn't blow cold air I would have left it off.

Don't drink mushroom Kool-Aid and paint your motor.
  22. They need gas powered blowers if they want to go farther than the Dyno machine. :bulb:
  23. That's not 20 weight, Amazon.com: 3-IN-ONE 10045 Motor Oil, 3 oz. (Pack of 1): Industrial & Scientific
  24. Here it is, 1971 240z for sale. Bored L28, Triple Mikuni. OBO
