Help with a fair price
I've pretty much decided to thin my small herd a little thinner, I've got 5 cars and a 3 car garage. I bought it a few years ago from a guy who needed money so he sold his 240 project. Car is all original now and runs good. He had an F54 short block and an E31 head, triple Weber 40s and a Tilton aluminum flywheel bought for his build that never happened. I'm keeping all that stuff and selling the car as is, original motor and rust with a worn out suspension. It's had a respray that is "orange peeling", they say it's a 10 foot paint job, inside 10 feet it don't look so good. Here's some pictures to look at. What should I ask? I was thinking $5,000. Here's the guys photobucket with the rust pictures. http://s813.photobucket.com/user/dskul1/library/?sort=3&page=1

Thinking about installing an BMW M6 engine in my Z
Here's one that needs your welding skills (sunroof) in New York. It's number 663. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-Z-Series-Base/141651739292?_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042&_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D1324ef1f4ee3417789db18f05910b82b%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26sd%3D141651739292

Ball bearings stuck on distributor stator
It's a yearly fundraiser for our local Humane Society at the airport. Classic cars, coolers with your favorite beverages and girlies with dogs (my two favorites). Big fun and for a good cause. Pilots like the Zs.

Ball bearings stuck on distributor stator
That's hilarious!!! Thank you Zed Head. I'll disconnect the vacuum advance until I get a new one. Gonna take the 280 to a crawfish boil Saturday.

Ball bearings stuck on distributor stator
3 ball bearings I've found so far. It's a junkyard ZX E12-80. Should I drive it until I get a remanufactured one? Thanks, Cliff

Wheeler Dealers 240Z
I've never heard of the show. Did they just do enough to "flip" it?

Questions about replacing a freeze plug
On both my 72s the plug is on the drivers side at the rear below the #6 cylinder. I took mine out after draining the rad and a $^!# load came out.

Not a Z but a Datsun
Best baby sitter my Dad ever had, Honda 70 Trail Bike with the gas tank under the seat. I left after breakfast, came home for lunch and a fill up then back home at dark. Not something to do now days, but back in the '70s; Oh Boy! I've looked at getting another one for the memories but like you said they're high now. Pit Bikes.

Timing cover removal without head removal?
That soda blasting works great on the aluminium. Messy as hell but it'll all blow away with just the air gun. It'll make paint disappear too. Give it a try but make sure your air compressor doesn't have any moisture. A way to reduce the amount of soda be sucked up is to put a small nut into the pickup end of the tubing, a little less mess. Here's some carbs I did with the same DIY setup as Chris mentioned above. Here's some furniture I did for my Mom. The round table had 2 coats of paint, the smaller telephone table to the left had about 5 coats, it's OLD. It just disappears without tearing up the wood.

Road Test - 2400 Miles in the Z Car
I'm jealous, that sounds like a great trip. Fire extinguisher? Some fuel line and clamps? Have fun and be safe. Cliff

Project Boondoggle (or, so I went and bought a Z!)
You can get some covers for the fusible links off e-bay for about $15.

L24 Rebuild -Again!
Steve is a locomotive engineer, but I'll quit. That block looks fantastic.

Value of stock taillights
If they're in good shape they're bringing close to a $1,000 on e-bay and they're made better, heavier. I put the JDM's on my orange car and the originals with the red lenses on my red car. In my opinion YES 3 sets are worth 1 set of aftermarket JDMs.
-
Bumpers-new JDM or restore some USA style ones
I don't plan to sale mine so I went with the JDM's clean lines. If your going to sale it, originals for sure. My car cover always got hung up on those bumperettes.

The Bricklin SV1 that started as a joke after a few beers on Ebay
Nice car, beautiful countryside.

L24 Rebuild -Again!
No kidding! The bible thumping hypocrites in my backwards town finally allowed us to vote in Sunday sales. No more drunken Saturday night visits to the Stop and Shop. The big restaurants wouldn't come here without 7 day sales, and they are full of sports fans on Sundays. Weed's next, all these broke farmers with a lot of land. Intermittent Loss Of Power-1972 240Z Stock
Be extra careful with the external fuel tank, I wasn't at first and gas sloshed out. Too full and didn't stuff a shop rag around the mouth of the jug. Bungee cord it somehow between the radiator and the front lip where the horns are. The sending unit comes off and out easy enough it's those nail head connectors and their old dried out rubber covers that are a pain. If you put a flashlight in the filler hole then a camera in the sending unit hole you should get a decent picture. Good luck and have fun, I did!

Throttle issues and now car won't start
