This is a picture of the Z Car shop owner's car here in Brisbane (Alan Stean). Looks like a picture from the Race to the Sky rally in New Zealand. The car is driven by Ross Dunkerton. I think they call these turbo wheels. Maybe you could email Alan at the Z Car workshop and ask him directly. biker

Here's another one.
Well Guys You can't knock a bloke who comes from Waterloo - they bred them pretty tough around there didn't they Alpha. I came from Forest Lodge and going down to Waterloo was like going inot another world. I agree with all you say about the go karts and finding my own entertainement, accepting dissapoitment, etc. But (and a big one at that) - the people regulating and the ones from the bleeding hearts brigade are making the laws that are screwing everyone around - did they not come from our generation??? Umm - No - as I work in Government and the bleeding hearts are a lot younger than me. Afraid I have become one of the old school and advocate the lash for wrong doers who do not clean up after themselves. :devious:

Best Blonde Joke Ever
Hey Bravo I noticed on the shout area the other day that you were congragulating an american (Bruce?) for giving a bit back at you for all your digging against our american friends. Turns out that Bruce is kind of an Aussie as well - ok he is from the land of the long white cloud:classic: so it is still up the our american friends to stick one to you. biker

Who are the worst drivers?
Thanks for putting up the Volvo drivers voting card as requested - received my vote promptly.:cheeky: Who was the boofhead who voted screwdriver??? That was just there to test your knowledge on the differing cars on the road - you failed:D BTW, when I moved to Queensland, I noticed a strange occurence of people having cups of coffee whilst driving to work, not that it gets cold here. After a litttle while of studying this, I started to notice that they were also having breakfast as well. I think the next move is that they will start to cook their bacon and eggs on the front passenger seat whilst driving!!!:stupid: Can't people get organised here or just blooody wait until they get to work!!! Now they are dangerous driving!!:stupid: PS - Got clobbered last year in my car by a Falcodore owner. Only had my new family car 20 minutes and the prick did $15K damage (not a Zed). Turned out that he and a mate were having a race along the freeway in peak hour traffic and he looked across to see if he was in front going over a crest of a hill. Only pleasure I took away from the experience was the fact that his car was a cumpled mess also. The prick made me give up the bikes as it is getting too dangerous out there. PPS - Saw a taxi driver yesterday on the way to work wearing -----a Hat!!!!:stupid: biker

Carbs
Hi Beandip If I am suffering from too much air getting past worn parts, how can I check this? Carbs seem to run pretty good except I do get a bit of gunk down around the rubber hose from the bowl to the Carb. Probably seeping fuel that picks up road grime. Does anyone in Aus know where you can get a colurtune and what is the cost of these.:cross-eye Thaknks in advance Biker

With only one Aussie in the F1, what true blue Aussie would not be a fan of Mark Webber. Interesting to know is that there is a swag of Aussies doing well in the European circuits such as F3. However, it is not about talent getting into F1, it is about how much cash you can bring along, then talent Our home grown V8 supercars series is on again this weekend from Eastern Creek Raceway on the outskirts of Sydney. Now that is some seriously good fun and hard racing. For panel damage and tyre rubbing, it is only second to our Brute Ute Series. These are Ford and GM utilities and because of no weight in the back they move around something fierce. The panelbeaters at the track when these ute's race are busier than a bricklayer in Bagdad!! Look forward to getting hold of your Mick Doohan photo - He is still my hero because he epitomises my thoughts on what an Aussie should be.

Need Shell
Z kid Yeah we all make mistakes - just ask John Denver (see other thread as it has all been said there.) The track that he pranged at is unforgiving as i ran there the week before and felt pretty uneasy with every lap. My Zed is firstly a toy and used to enjoy. Why not share the experience. Besides I know that he will look after it and if he makes another mistake, it was not on purpose. That is why they are called mistakes I think?:sleepy: I would also hope that someone would do the same for me if I was in the same situation. It is the adrenalin rush that we all crave for.

Ozzy Guy I saw your car up here in Qld at the Nationals. I was too busy drooling over the engine to notice anything about loose carpet!

Need Shell
Z kid All was well after the prang -just shaken, not stirred. Yeah I understand about when is it right to put on first dibs? I already have :classic: on any parts if the case being that he has to move onto something else if he cannot secure another body. To keep him on the track, I have offered to let him enter mine in the next race as a double entry.

Go z racer Bloody hell, I think you need to put a hard cover around that story and flog it off as a book! It is interesting to reflect on these chance meetings and having the opportunity to take these guys on at their game just adds to make it a great memory. You certainly have to acknowledge the quality of a master at work, doesn't one, little grasshopper. I remember doing my first year at scrutineering in the 80's at the six hour motorcycle race, Australia's premier annual 2 wheel event. The first day of practice two young guys walked up in some smick leathers especially imported from Japan by Honda. The main comment of the day was "they will have to try and live up to the reputation that precedes them!". My thoughts were at the time was that Honda must have a bit of faith in them to pay for the leathers that they were wearing. Later that year I got the chance to ride with one of them. He wasn't that bad and nearly as good as I thought I was - a legend in my own mind. The names of these two young layabouts with the fancy leathers: Wayne Gardner - 1 time world motorcycle champion Mick Doohan - 5 times world motorcycle champion You can't knock talent!! PS Myself, I have a soft spot for the "septic tanks" and any ribbing here is "tongue in cheek". You are right in regard to us having similar histories and it dates back before WW2. Did you know that the first major action seen by the American Army in WW1 was when the americans were placed into the Aussie divisions to partcipate in the battle for Hamel in France. This was the momentous victory and the strategies employed lead to being a blueprint of how to attack fortified lines. If I have been a little heavy on the slang I apologise but unfortunately you people overseas here more of it than we do here. The slang is a dying culture which would be a real shame. I suppose this is the price of turning this place into such a small world with the technology we have. PPS HS30 - Mel Gibson is a bloody aussie because he is a bloody good actor. He was only passing through the US. If he was no good, then he would be a yank and they could have him back. :classic: Biker

Need Shell
Thanks guys I have passed on the information. Ahh Z kid - might not be appropriate to ask at this point but will keep you posted. The upside is that if he cannot get another body, he was going to break it up for the parts. I anxiously await his decision.
