  1. Yes it is Charles. I uploaded a second picture in the original post, If you click on "view advert" it can be seen. It is the part driven by the motors worm gear that turns the clutch & antenna line assembly. The shaft is knurled for the nylon part to fit tightly on.
  2. I have & will try that if someone does not have a broken antenna I can get the part from.
  3. View Advert 280 Power Antenna Part I have a 280z antenna that is functional except for the cracked white nylon drive piece. It is a friction fit to the shaft and slips due to the cracks. Looking for the white drive piece or a broken 280 antenna if that part is usable. Advertiser S30Driver Date 04/04/2019 Price Category Parts Wanted Year 77 Model 280z
  4. Have not seen the 2+2 trim available. I am guessing the hatch is longer but width is the same as the coupe. The corner pieces & horizontal top & bottom pieces, gap cover piece are likely the same as the coupe. Ryan at ZcarDepot might have them, he has some parts cars in his yard.
  5. This might be what you are looking for: https://zcardepot.com/collections/glass/products/hatch-glass-seal-rubber-weatherstrip-2-2-260z-280z
  6. Hey Cliff, it's deceptive, the rear brake line on the driver side is actually longer than the passenger side.... who knew
  7. Best of luck with the brake job, bleeding order is ...... driver rear, pass rear, pass front, and driver front.
  8. If it has the original alloy drums on the rear, use caution having them turned. There is a minimum inside diameter for the steel liner, if that is exceeded it can get expensive to replace them. The rear diff is fine, as is the front crossmember. Do not lift the car on the frame rails. If you look along the each sides pinch weld, you can see the factory locations for the scissor jack. Those are safe location to use a jack or shop lift.
  9. I would not do any cutting on the front, and definitely not modifying the isolators. My car has Eibach's & Illumina's all around. Triple check on installation you have the correct springs on the front. Many have done this job twice, lol... Here is a side shot with my 15" cold weather, off season setup ....
  10. The 240 and 280 front isolators are identical. the difference is the rear, 280's are higher, 1" or more. The lowering springs take car of the front. I have 16" wheels with 205 55 Dunlops, around 3/4" gap to top of fenders. Choose tire size with care.... I will look for a better side pix to post. Orange car is my lowered 77.
  11. Pmg's advice is correct. The 240 shorter isolators on the rear provide the right stance. I use them on my lowered car with 240 bumpers, no issues. They are available from ZcarDepot , oem or aftermarket.
  12. Add new cap, rotor, wires to your tune up list, NGK copper plugs only. Many here like the NGK wire set as well. Look for high resistance connections on the coolant temperature sensor and it's two bullet connections, (needs a solid connection to the ECU to regulate fuel demand).
  13. Looks like a neat, creative solution for any 280z that has stock front calipers & rotors. In my case, with the Willwoods on the front, a front flat would cause me to move the rear up front and put the spare on the back.
  14. Should be about 9.7 : 1 CR with the stock gasket thickness.
  15. I am no expert on the space saver spare except to test mine with an air pump. If I had to guess, it may be a unique setup where the tire is not intended to be removable. In CO's case, since he usually leaves no stone unturned, there must be a reason preventing him from using the original nissan wheel. .
  16. Get new Nissan head bolts (turbo if you find them), OEM for front & rear seals, ITM pistons have a good reputation for your application, new water pump, & liberal use of assembly lube. Zcar Depot is a good source for many of the needed parts. Japan parts are always best vs china. Since you are in Canada, one of the northern experienced guys might be able to point you in the right direction for sourcing parts. Nice looking 280 ....
  17. There is no new replacement for that 1st generation space saver tire. However, Capt Obvious found a solution with a modern donut tire that works for him. The thread is in the archives, perhaps Bruce will comment on the details. @Captain Obvious

By brake lines, if you mean the short flex lines, I would replace those as well if they show any sign of deterioration. Good time to replace the brake fluid since you are considering all the brake work. Oem lines are still available from Zcar Depot. How long have you owned the car?
  19. Hey Jim, the red/blue illumination lead you can connect in parallel with the blue +12v power, to see if the bulbs for lighting are functioning. Look forward to your feedback on the chrome pen.
  20. Nice 240 radio Jim! Best of luck with it. The AM signal seekers are the most fun to play with... Zup's approved bench setup is - a 12v garage battery charger, oem antenna, and a floor speaker he has left over from the woodstock era.
  21. If you know you need a replacement, get one from a zx turbo parts car. (in your area it should not be too hard) or Contact member borini63, he has many zx parts. He is in Phoenix.
  22. Nice article. Hey Zup, I'll provide the enclosed trailer, you supply the silver 73 .... The 2019 Hemmings Motor News Concours d’Elegance, taking place September 13-15 in Lake George, New York, will feature a class dedicated to the 1970-’73 240Z, 1974 260Z, 1975-’78 280Z, and 1979-’83 280ZX. I check mine every year out of habit. Got down to 12 F last night here. When I lived in the Denver area, it got down to -30 during the winter of 85. Had just bought a new Nissan 4x4 pickup. Struggled to crank but it started to get me to work. Was a lineman for a cable company in Rochester NY as well before then and actually worked outside in that kind of weather. Those were the days .... Stay warm, those in the north.
