The airdam is a good look. However, it puts a flare of "modernism" to a classic car. It does this by hiding the bumper. Or, does it fit under the bumper? From the picture, it looks like it is hiding it. Most new (modern) cars hide the bumper under bodywork. I believe this is why it has been called 'ricer'... The air dam looks pretty good to me. Did you already purchase it? Does it fit under the bumper or over it?
  2. I got my new OEM fenders about 4 years ago. One of them was busted up in shipment, but, my local Nissan dealer replaced it quickly. The only other problem I had was fitting it correctly. That is a challenge!!

Yea, I noticed that as well. I thought maybe he was selling it?!
  4. Too late? That's assuming we have a deadline. I'd like to see these on the poll as well. Should be easy enough to edit. Yea, cut out that whining.

How about the old ones... Why we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway? Why they call it a building when it's already built?! How they came up with the name of a Fly? I mean, did the act of flying or the name of the bug come first?

Enrique or beandip can probably help out.... they are in the PDX area.
  11. Ah, ok.. thanks. I didn't know who's site they were linked to. So many websites die or change domains that it's hard to make sure people are linking to something that will last awhile... Great picts...

Oh my... What kind of ignorant fool stands up on national TV to speak his mind against the people the USA commonly view as heros? He does have the right to do it. But, he just ain't that smart. But anyway, this was a good video, let's get back to talkin Zcars guys.

Don't mind Carl, he's our local know it all... I'm trying to figure out what you guys are debating.. Are you trying to figure out if Nissan used ACRYL or ALKYD enamels for stock paint? Zup's info is coming from Wike's book and Carl's info is coming from a sticker on his car. And, if I were to pick... Wike's book would be my choice. No offense Carl, but, unless you owned that car since it was new the sticker could have been put on there at a later date. Before this gets into a head-butting game, why don't you guys look it up? Sounds like a perfect opportunity for a tech article to me!! -- Mike

Ah, yes... you are suffering from a very common problem most digital camera owners see. Your camera takes pictures that are much higher quality than we can support. To post them on our website, you need to scale them down (resize). Check out this post I did about image sizes and formats. Simply put, if your pictures were smaller, you could upload them. There are a few good tools listed but I suggest that you use the Windows XP Power Toy for resizing images... it does an excellent job and it's easy. Here's the link to the write-up... http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17703
  15. Hey, did you guys ever put these in our gallery? Posting them like this in a forum is kinda clunky because the image sizes are so big. And, if that other site ever goes away, this post will have a bunch of "X's" with broken image links. Just an FYI....
  16. So, when are you sending all of us an autographed photo of you and your BRE? Now that you're famous and all...

Yea, you don't want to take any chances with the brakes. I went through the same pains as you and I eventually had to go out and buy all new slave cylinders. I also purchased a new master cylinder and had the brake system flushed. While you're under there, make sure you replace the wheel bearings and have the rotors turned. Get some new pads on there and you should be set. Welcome to the world of old cars. Especially if the one you just bought was sitting for that long.

Here's some info from Carl Beck's website about the sales of the early Z's and the 280ZX: http://zhome.com/History/Zproduction.html. The Internet Zcar Club is a huge information resource of information about the Zcar and Carl does an excellent job at keeping this information accurate. I recommend a stop by this place when you get some time. Make sure you set aside a few hours because this site is PACKED full of useful stuff...
