Welcome, welcome. I am sure you will find a wealth of information on this site.
  2. Montezuma you should have told me you were going to be up here.... I live and work just a few miles from Les's shop. I would have stopped by to say hi. Glad to hear that Les was able to help you. He does really great work and really works hard to provide that extra bit that sets him apart from his competition. Your right, my Z is at Les's shop at the moment. I wanted to get a few things done prior to taking it up to the JCCS show on the 30th.
  3. The Classic Datsun Vinyl and Carpet looks great! Classic Datsun www.classicdatsun.com R

  5. Thanks Montezuma...it is important to find a guy that you can trust that will do the job you want. Not only the skill, but the skill and understanding to know what you need. It is hard to find, but once you do you won't be dissapointed. Talk to the people who are going to do your work, make sure that they understand what you are looking for and don't be afraid to pay for a good job. The guy that does it is worth it. Good luck.
  6. Nate, the speaker brackets work well, but the speaker location is not in a good location. So you might want to put speakers in a different location.
  7. Looks like your car is coming together quickly. Great to see all the progress.

Craig, well put. Glad to hear you are enjoying OTR.
  10. Glad to hear that Bob made it over to the Corral. Who else showed up at the Corral?
  11. Lookin good Mike! The Steve and the guys at Z therapy are awesome for sure!!
  12. lots of interesting thoughts here. Keep in mind that some back pressure will yield better torque numbers for a street car. If you like the nostalgic look of dual exhaust it comes with a price, added weight, and not as good scavenging capability vs a single exhaust. My dual racing exhaust is exceedingly loud, it sounds like two open header, three cylinder cars at low RPM. At high RPM it sounds like nothing else I can compare it too.
  13. With an 8qt pan, oil cooler and 2qt accusump in the roadster I can relate to an oil change being a few bucks. I run consistant temps with my Ron Davis radiator and oil cooler (mounted in my front airdam). Previous events I had internal motor issues that created hi friction problems that have now been fixed. I run a solid 180 water and 220 oil (at the external filter) with my current configuration at Fontana. I agree with your statement above Mark, and there could be good reasons to run multi weight oil in a dry sump configuration. BTW: How were the Historic's Mark?
  14. Simple, this is a community where we enjoy the opportunity to discuss with like minded people our fanaticism of Datsun Z cars...We laugh, cry live and breath Z cars and this is our international platform to do so.
  15. Mark did Monty suggest that you run 20-50? He has recomended 30w racing for my U20 motor.

contact Dennis at Datsunracing.us he has a large number of racing photos and should be able to help you out.
  19. NICE!! Sounds healthy!!
  20. Having seen BOTH of Mark's Z's I can tell you that they are both beautiful cars in their own way. His early series one red Z is one of the cleanest cars I have seen. His race car, while not as pretty, certainly makes up for it in handling, power and speed...
  21. Hi Mark... This is a good group. Glad you found your way over here. As you can see by the post above your reputation precedes you. R All of us on CZC promise not to tell your wife what you have spent on your cars

I would suggest media blasting the centers and then have them polished. these wheels look great when they are properly restored. the deep dish really stands out.

Up until this post I did not know that there was a difference, and I think I have a friend that has one of the low number prints...so I will go look at his. Boyblunda, glad you got a deal... I have #1174 nicely framed in my office next to Hector Cademartori's original of Zeal.
