rjracin240, I do appreciate others vehicles for what they are. As I said, I wouldn't do this to my own Z. Hell, I wouldn't do that to my Civic I had, either. But, its his car, and if he wants to go for the same look, go for it. I was simply stating that I didn't like it not one bit. I think it looks ridiculous, and is a waste of money. My opinion is of the same for the ricers who think there [several explicit words deleted] awesome because there car is on the ground and they have a fart can muffler on the back. Don't get me wrong. Modify your vehicle to your heart's content. I just think some things are exceedingly lame, redundant, stupid, and pointless. Case in point, said car above. If the goal was to make it look like it was rusted, OK. Achieved that. Want to lower it? Go ahead. I just think that the faux-fender flare, and making the car pretend to be a snail and drag on the pavement is an absolute waste. Both of money and vehicle.

Jon, You picked the exact response I was going for!

260Z 4-LUG BOLT PATTERn
I don't know of any other sellers whom have rims that will fit the 4-lug Z's. You can call local tire places. Other than that, Black Dragon, and MSA are the best bet's I can think of. Speaking of MSA, these are pretty snazzy. http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/WWC001H

I grabbed the pics and brought them here. According to the site (if you follow the above link) it's a 240Z. It recieves the Retro Machine of the Year,Stance of the Year,Rat of the Year awards. z4life92, My Z isn't running at the moment, but this is something I would NOT do to my Z. Just my opinion, but I think it looks like crap, and not because of the rust. I'm not a huge fan of the uber-dropped cars that bottom out on a pothole. Nor am I fan of those faux-fender flares. Again, I just wouldn't do it to my personal Z, but that's me. I think there low enough already. Just my $0.02.

Ridiculous! Keep at it man. That's horrible if they actually give you that.

New owner of a Z!!
Here's the pics of my Benz, as promise. I've since sold her off, at the time I couldn't afford the repairs. Now I could, but at the time, I couldn't. The only damage done was to the hood, bumper, grille, drivers headlight was finagled a bit (not damaged, just loose), radiator support, and radiator. Everything else was straight. Wish I could have kept her....

Ouch! While my Z hasn't been in an accident, my Benz was. Poor girl never stood a chance. But, if you say the motor and that is OK, that's good. Preferably iy's just cosmetic work, with no frame damage. Keep us updated. Good luck to ya man.

I could, but I'll probably stay this way a while. They've sorta grown on me. I could imagine. Decisions decisions....

Journey to a new paint
Can I ask where you picked up those lights from?

New owner of a Z!!
Ah. OK, see I like how those look compared to mine, but that's just my opinion. I like the way they look on a Z, versus the bars on mine. Oh well. The only other two Z's I've seen in my town don't have them, even though it's the same bumpers/models.
-
New owner of a Z!!
Ah. so, there light collision buffers? Weird. never seen them before. Thanks for the info.
-
New owner of a Z!!
Ah OK. I thought maybe mine was modified or something. Do they have a specific purpose or just there for visuals?

New owner of a Z!!
=Enigma=, In the photos I posted before in this thread, if you look at my front and rear bumper, i have these little bars on them have you ever seen those on another Z? I haven't. Not once. Everybody else is free to answer this as well.

New owner of a Z!!
=Enigma=, I assume you meant 1977? at any rate, I like the look of the ZZZap-Z. thanks for that link, btw. Still can't wait to get mine going. Waiting on the fuel pump to arrive...

New owner of a Z!!
Oiss2, Looked through your gallery. Nice looking little Z. I, too, am looking forward to see what you do with her. I didn't know there were "special models" of the Z's. I have a feeling I'm going to fail emissions here when it comes time...

Wow. Those are pretty bright. I like.

New owner of a Z!!
Oifss2, Welcome back to the Z scene. This is my first Z, and I have a little bit of mechanical knowledge. Not great, but I'm always learning new things and building upon my experience and knowledge. AJ, That's allot of miles. Pretty cool about the F.O. Man first car I bought was from my first private security job. Company owner had sold it to me. Man, that thing was the biggest piece of junk I've ever driven. Though, in all fairness, it ran for almost 12 months with no transmission fluid or oil added to it. I wasn't allowed to buy a new one until that one died. Here's a breakdown of my previous vehicles in order of ownership and there demise: 1. 1990 Pontiac Grand Prix LE - purposely killed to get a new car. The only thing I ever did was put a new radio in it. 2. 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 {standard cab/short bed} - Taken by the Repo guys after I got fired. 3. 1998 Honda Civic LX - Exchanged ownership between myself and my aunt a few dozen times before we cracked the head gasket (among other things) with almost 400K on the clock. It was well maintained, and just kept right on going. We drove the hell out of that little car. 4. 1989 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.6 - Greatest car I have ever owned. Easy to work on, great power. Looks great, and was awesome once I swapped the auto transmission for a 5spd. Brother smashed it into a telephone pole. Have to post pics for ya of the before and after damage. 5. 1976 Datsun 280Z 2+2 - Nothing yet. Gotta get her running and then we'll see.

Whats your Z plan for 2010?
I plan on getting the Z running. Then driving her often.

New owner of a Z!!
Nice. I'm hoping to find few problems, and that my list will contain mostly things I want to do, not need to do. Only time will tell. That's cool about the F.O. Nice to see a previous owner willing to help, or at least talk to you. I've owned numerous vehicles, and this P.O. was the worst I've dealt with. No, actually, I'd tie him equal with the P.O. of my first car. Both didn't really want to give up info until I kept asking.
-
New owner of a Z!!
That's rather weird. Even weirder about staying on. Glad it doesn't do that anymore. Cars do some pretty odd things some times.. And whoever wired the radio like that is a goof.
-
New owner of a Z!!
I hope there none! And with some luck they will be small spots, and very few!! The radio turned the lights off? Was that one of the special functions?
-
New owner of a Z!!
AJ, Underside looks clean. I mean, obviously dirty, but looks free from rust. I have noticed a couple spots where it could have some, but I plan on power washing the underside to check it out. Esmit, I've already planned on it taking several years. I'm thinking a combination of the two. I guess that's called a resto-mod around here? Anyway, I'd like to keep much of it stock with some relatively minor mods. Thanks! I'll need all the luck I can get.

New owner of a Z!!
Aj, the gal is pleased my "other woman" is a car. she's just as excited about the car as me. Zedyone, I am. Just trying to think ahead a bit and attempting a list (it's getting bigger each day) of things that need/may need repair.

New owner of a Z!!
I haven't had time to fully examine them and make sure they work properly, but I think the middle 3 gauges do not work. Once work cools off a bit I'm going to go and test them. I did some searching, and found a few different sets that will fit if I needed to change them. I believe one set is Autometer, the other is Revolution. Both are nice, but does anybody make the over/under gauges? I like how there set up, and don't feel like adding pods to hold an extra gauge or two because there's not room for all of them in those spots..

Need some help...
Aye, that was my goal. Less money spent, but it happens. Guess I'm gonna have to just push it into the dirt area next to the driveway for now. Unfortunately, my work is not cooperating and having trouble getting my paycheck. Just looking to get her running soon as possible, but only time will prevail. Thank for the towing tips, I'll keep that in mind when I have her towed. Thanks guys. Sparky
