What rims are on my car?
I wish those would fit. Unfortunately they are too small for my wheel opening. Anyone know where I can get ones to fit a 3 5/16" opening?

What rims are on my car?
I have 3 out of 4 center caps for my wheels. The rims accept 3 5/16" caps but I can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know what rims these are and where I might be able to find center caps?

Kia Sportage weatherstip rocks!
$100 for the pair shipped. I did a water hose test and they are solid. No leaks. The windshield seal is another issue.:disappoin One step forward, many more steps to go.

Kia Sportage weatherstip rocks!
I found this thread on hybridz and thought I would give the Kia Sportage door weatherstip a try. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=153925&highlight=sportage I bought new. It works great! Looks close to stock. No door adjustment needed. Very nice.

I almost burnt my Z to the ground!
As I understand it the relay has no use if you removed the emissions stuff during the round top conversion.

I almost burnt my Z to the ground!
Got it. It's the throttle opener relay. I was doing a round top conversion and forgot I was using the 1972 FSM for my 1973Z. It's in the 1973 edition.

I almost burnt my Z to the ground!
I did a very stupid thing. I dropped a bolt and shorted out the little box on the firewall near the heater hoses. When I started the car and went for a test drive it got so hot that the wires glowed red and smoked! I thought I was going to burn the car down. I've looked all over the FSM and I can't figure out what this little box does. Anyone know? I guess at this point I have to unwrap the wiring harness and see how bad the damage is. I'm thinking that I should check my fusible links as well. I thought that they were supposed to burn out when a short like this happens. I've only had the car a couple of weeks. Still working out what the PO did to it.

Houston Texas Classic Datsun get together
Count me in for the next meet up! I tried to make the last one but it didn't fit with my schedule. I've only had my 240Z for a couple of weeks so I'm looking forward to see what others have done with theirs.

non-standard wire identification
Any idea what that relay does? The car is in a million little bits right now so I can't just unplug it and see what stops working.

non-standard wire identification
I just bought a 1973 240Z and I'm trying to understand some of the wiring modifications made by the PO. I think I have them mostly figured out but this one baffles me. There is a red wire running from a plug near the passenger vent. To the ballast resistor (yellow wire goes to the electric fan). Anyone got any idea what it does?

Which PCV tube?
I am swapping out my flat tops for a fresh set of round tops from ztheapy. Which PCV tube will I need? The 70 or 71-72 or something different? What's the difference?

Where does this tube go?
This is perfect! Thank you for all your effort.

Eibach + KYB GR-2 = trouble?
The rear of the car sits very low (can't see the top of the wheels) and the suspension groans and creaks in the rear. The front seem fine

Eibach + KYB GR-2 = trouble?
Arne, I have read many posts that you have written in the past about the suspension on the 240z. Given the inability to find springs with stock rate and drop and the inability to get the KYB's to reliably work with a drop spring. What spring/strut package would you currently recommend for as close to a stock driving experience as possible?
-
Where does this tube go?
I don't see any empty, plugged or otherwise capped vacuum ports near the carb spacer. I did not find the carb diagram for the flat tops on the ztherapy web site.

Where does this tube go?
I have the flat tops at this point but a set of round tops are on the way from ztherapy.

Eibach + KYB GR-2 = trouble?
I am looking for new springs and struts for my 1973 240Z. I would like to keep the ride as close to stock as possible but unfortunately stock springs are no longer available. In reading old posts the closest thing I have found to stock is Eibach pro springs with KYB GR2 struts. However, MSA recommends against this combination because the lowered eibach springs will shorten the life span of the GR2's. Can anyone comment on the longevity of the Eibach/GR2 combination?

Where does this tube go?
Do you mean under the SU near the intake manifold?

Where does this tube go?
I am the proud new owner of a low miles, all original, no rust 1973 240z. I've been spending time under the hood getting familiar with everything and I found that the vacuum advance hose is not connected to anything. The vacuum advance works and holds vacuum nicely but I don't know where to stick the hose. I've looked in the FSM and spent my time searching old threads but I can't find a photo of where the advance tube is supposed to go. Anyone got one?

That's what I was looking for. Thanks Ron

Carb ID
I am going to drive a 1973 240Z tomorrow and I'm researching what to look for. After spending way too many hours reading threads on this site and others over the past month or so I think I understand what dictates the value of these cars but I am stuck on how to identify a flat top carb. I assume that flat top carbs are flat on the top but all of the photos I have been able to find have rounded tops. How flat is a flat top? Anyone have photos?
