Pics, Pics, Pics!!! Good luck with your newest purchase!
  2. The picture of the blue one is a pic of the hood that you get with the car. I beleive he said the hood was tossed however he is throwing the hood from the blue in with the deal.
  3. you can clearly see the mounting locations for the turn signals in the grill. clear giveaway there! Theres also the rear finisher that flows the rear panel into the rear bumper, and the door panels are specific to a later Z car.
  4. Daniel is correct. you need to utilize one of the fuel injected heads.
  5. It is a considerable amount of work as you need all of the wiring, sensors, relays, etc pertinent to the fuel injection swap. This has been discussed in great detail here and on Zcar.com, just do a search in the forum on the topic. While I guess I agree with everyone wanting the lighter tub with the fuel injection, however in my opinion its easier to buy a 280 as the work has already been completed. The 75 has a very early style feel to the interior and you can ditch the heavy bumpers and swap to the early 260 or 240 bumpers....

the tire well was changed in 77 to accomodate the collapsable spare. 76 was the last year of the full size spare and the tool stowage compartments I beleive were phased out mid 75. then early 75 cars I beleive were leftover 260 tubs which were slightly changed to accomodate the turn signal completely inside the grill verses the late 260 which had them half in and half out. I don;t know if the late 260s had the tool storage. my early 74 does.

So some of you have seen that I am trying to see if I can sell my 260 project. I have posted it here as well as Zcar.com. I keep getting emails from people stating they want to buy my car. Their sentence structure and spelling is way off from the english language and to boot, the person emailing me never asks specifics really on the condition of the project...only that they are def going to buy it. Now, the person wants my address information so that they can send me a certified cashiers check (from a third pary mind you). The cashiers check they state is for the purchase price of the vehicle and that they have already made arrangements with a shipping company to come get it. I am told to cash the check.....take out what my price of the car is, and then give the rest of the funds to shipping company that is coming to get the car. My replies have been basically go scratch. This is def some shady scam. Anyone else ever encounter this??
  10. well I can say that ebay never ceases to amaze me. I do give him credit on being so imaginative though. I'll bet the car has special aerodynamic racing floors too

Hey now, no need to make fun I;ve actually considered looking at this one to see how bad it is since its so close to me. I;ve owned worse:sleepy:
  13. Oh one other thing, for identification purposes.. the R180's have a 5 bolt flange where the halfshaft goes into the rear. THe R-200's do not.
  14. you can swipe the R200's out of the 2+2 cars from 75-78..I;ve had several :classic:
  15. The U joints aren't that hard to do. You need plenty of penetrating fluid, a screwdriver, and I would suggest a mallet. You have to get the C clips off the ends and then knock one side out and remove the cups with the needle bearings. Be sure to mark the yolks so that you can match them together as they were. make sure also that you get greasable U joints (they will have Zerk fittings on them) so you can properly lube them. Also, it might not be a bad idea to bring the halfshafts to a drive shaft place and have them checked to ensure they are properly balanced. I don't necessarily think that you have to do the driveshaft as well, however if you are going through the trouble to do the halfshafts, why not do them all. Nothing worse then doing kind of the same job twice, when you can just do it all at once and know that you won;t have to be under there doing it all over again.

If anyone is interested in an early 74 260 project please get in touch with me. Right now the car has been completely sandblasted and all rot has been addressed and cut out. I have all the replacement panels, IE passenger rocker, floors, Passenger dogleg. The car is about 90% complete. Have the early SU's....the interior is complete as well as everything else. The R180 was swapped for the R200. Frame rails are solid and the battery well needs minimal repair. I really need the room in the garage for my current project and would like the room to have a drill press, parts washer, etc and to be able to completely walk around my current project. also, the extra funds would be a help. I have about 1000.00 or so in new parts specific to this year car such as brakes, brake lines, new fenders still in cardboard etc. Basically someone needs to take it home, weld it together and complete the project. I haven;t even decided on a price, I just want to see if there any takers.

Wow I started quite a thread with this one. let me finish getting through the replies and I can enlighten everyone on what took place. Also, yes we are still living together because we are tied to a lease until march. soooo, I have to either find a roomate or she has to leave and continue to pay beacuse I dont thing that I can swing the whole place myself without having to drink tap water and eat ramon noodles morning noon and night. Although that might be better than what I am having to deal with now.

Thanks for the kinds words everyone and it really is a tough situation for everyone involved. I would love to send her flowers however I have to respect the fact that she has someone else in her life now and she is big on that. I need to let some time pass before I can begin that friendly gesture because she may feel funny about me doing that. This is a hard situation to handle because we are still living together and will be for a little bit. Things will work out for whatever the best situation is for us. I have though been pounding the pavement in the garage and tearing it up. The battery well is just about done. I need to grind the welds and clean everything up then its on to the passenger floor support and where the hole is in the firewall for the harness. Once the welding is done, its time to put all the freshly sandblasted and painted parts on the car and start getting her ready for paint and such and get the interior back in. The pics are in the gallery!

All I can say guys is make sure that you pay attention to little things that matter to a girl in a relationship. Send her flowers, leave her little notes, and never not tell her how you feel about her and how she makes you feel. Don;t get all caught up in the big picture and let things slide. It really makes a differance. unfortunately we work together and her new man sent her roses and now she has them on her desk. Talk about salt in the wound.
