  1. could be worse, you could have this to deal with
  2. man the ladies can be so effed. No offense to any on the site, however my 4 year live in GF that I was completely secure and under the impression that we were to marry has just ended things between us and is now dating the guitarist from a band that I was the archivist for....for over a year and a half! even more efffed is that we are tied in a lease together until march :devious: Looks like I will have plenty of time now to finish the car
  3. MSA has them listed in the catalog at $ 4.78 a piece....PN 24-5091
  4. If victoria british or MSA here in the states does not carry them perhaps you can go to a company called Timkin. They certainly could match one up for you.

hey man nice welds! def looks like you are using gas
  6. I too am guilty of doing business with jmead. I bought a gasket that arrived safe, sound, expediently and was as desribed. Jmead gets a recomendation from me :classic:
  7. You know I felt the same way however thats the beauty of the internet. I know that if I had seen the donor car and it was rust free, I would have been contemplating how to bring it home and where to store it. Thankfully I never even had to see it. so the last things left to weld are the passenger floor support and the drivers side lower rear corner. Oh and a small spot in the firewall where the harness runs through on the passenger side. It started to rot out because of the battery well. If I had an english wheel I would have no problem fabricating these patches so no more unfortunate Z cars have to be cut apart, however I guess in some form, the donor car is breathing life into another.
  8. These will go up in the gallery however I thought I'd toss them up here for discussion. These are pics of the donor battery well from Roger Schmidt at the Z barn. Cost was 122 bucks however he sends the entire corner from the strut tower back to the firewall section. It requires alot of cutting and fitting, however its an alternative to not having to custom fabricate something depending on the severity of your rust.

  14. victoria british sells all of the hard steel brake lines. Thats where I got mine for my 260
  15. All of my previous 280Z's have always had some sort of mysterious issues however once I started driving the car regularly things would smooth out. Some of the biggest issue in owning these cars is that we have to constantly resurrect them from the dead. Most have been sitting idle in someones yard until a mechanically competant person either buys it, or the owner takes the car to a garage that can service the vehicle. Letting a car sit is probably the worst thing that you can do for it. Secondly, many times you are trying to track down and correct a previous owners Bo-Zo No No repairs It really surprises me also at how many people own classic cars that only know how to put the key in and start it. These things aren't Kia's folks :classic:
  16. This one needs floors for sure! That passenger seat is about to end up in the parking lot.

I do have you beat though. I pulled my car off the jackstands onto the floor of the garage this weekend using it as a crutch to pull myself up
  18. I thought the same thing and I was really thanking my reflexes! Thankfully the only things on the car were the doors and hatch so the car wasn't that heavy and merely dropped on the front crossmember.....some sheetmetal in the rear got a little boogered up but it stayed on the rear stands for the most part. phew!!
  19. Drop your car on the garage floor??? I did it this weekend putting together the drivers side strut assembly and such. I went to get up as I was sitting indian style on the floor and stupidly grabbed the topside of the engine bay and gave a big pull to get myself up. I ended up pulling the car right off the jackstands onto the flor.
