fuel injection?
I am in the process of installing fuel injection on my 240z. I took the cylinder head and intake (w/ all the wires) off of a running 280z and transplanted it onto my 240 block. When I am done I will have one high revving 2.4L engine w/ the starting and reliability of the fuel injection. I am still in the process of hooking up the wiring harness. I hope to have it running by the end of the month. Any questions that you may have in doing your car i may be able to answer. ( I've been through the hole thing ). - Jeff

timing chain diff. ????
I just put a L28 head on a L24 block - i used the L24 chain & gears. It did'nt seem that there was any differance. I would use what you have. If there is a little differance in length the chain tensioner will adjust for it. -Jeff

Fuel pressure question
Walter Moore - I did find the pressure in my manual today. The pressure should be @ 30 psi at idle - 37 psi at any rpm over idle. Thanks for your reply - - Jeff

Fuel pressure question
I installed a '78 280z fuel injection system on my '72 240. the fuel flow is strong - but seems to be returning to the tank in high volume due to the sound of it re-entering the tank. The engine starts for a moment then dies. I think it is starting for that moment on the cold start injector- but if the fuel pressure regulator is not holding pressure wouldn't it be a reason it would die? Question is: What should the fuel pressure be in the fuel rail? And where is a good place to install a fuel pressure port to check the pressure? Any thoughts would be appreciated. - Jeff

Coolant forced out of overflow hose
Old rad. caps will get weak - not holding 12-14 psi. That will cause the cap to allow it to "overflow" early. Try the new cap 1st. That should be changed every 3-4 years antway. - Jeff

6 Speed
BambiKiller240 is right - Instead of the seesaw motion of a internal cam opperation - the OHC provides a "knock em down - let em up" motion, less moving parts - faster valve responce - and better valve timing accuracy. Pull your valve cover off and turn the cam over manualy - it will show you how it all works. -Jeff

Header Help Needed
I found out that both of the taped holes are straight threads- One is M20x1.5 and the other is M22x1.5 Those are fine thread metrics. I went to a local fastener(sp) place and got one of each and a crush washer for each. ( crush washers are also found on a spark plug ) I've cranked them tight but will not be starting the car untill the middle of next month - I'll let you know how it works. - Jeff
