Follow your order closely Unkle. My first set was ordered and put in the Nissan system by my dealer in late January but someone else on the canadian Nissan network reallocated the panels...Long story short, new order had to be put in for the next Japan shipment resulting in a 6 weeks delay.

For anyone on the North Side of the US Border : I am being told by my Nissan dealer that a bunch of new door panels came in from Japan late last week : 7 X left side in Vancouver/Nissan warehouse 4 X right side in Toronto/Nissan warehouse 3 X right side in Montreal/Nissan warehouse The pair that i have ordered 6 weeks ago also came in with that shipment and will be deliver to my workplace tomorrow. Wow, Wow and Wow:):)

Thanks Arne for your help. BD kit is unopen and out of access for a few weeks. BD kit parts description (see attach) is definitively different from MSA kit. And MSA does not seem to sell any molding as per BD (part # 59-798 & 59-799). Does it make sense to return the BD kit and buy the MSA one ?

About to order seals, weatherstrips and moldings from Blackdragon/MSA in order to rejuvenate the doors/quarter windows/rear hatch of my 73. Wish to replace all hood seal and bumper. Any kit available ? Other than the regular part list from the Black Dragon catalog, will i miss anything ?

Yes, the bumper on the picture is the one that was sold to me as being a 72. Does the bracket to which the stud with a round rubber spacer is attach looks like the bracket on your bumper ? If so, how about i remove the stud with a round rubber spacer and replace it by a loose nut + bolt from inside of the fender + thick rubber square ? Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Working on a bumper look similar to the one on Arne post for my 73. I have a 72 bumper in hand and would like to know if the round rubber with the stud (mine are in bad shape + rusting) are still available and necessary in order to get that taper/close to the body look ? If not available, what is the alternative ?

I would be happy to buy a new 70-72 new bumper at 499$ given the cost of rechroming in my area. Was unable to locate any new one in the BlackDragon catalog : http://www.blackdragonauto.com/icatalog/z/full.aspx?page=24 Any pointer ?

How about fitting a BlackDragon 260z bumper blade on a 73 ? With no bumper guard, in order to get that 70-72 look...

That is a very good question. What is the difference between the BlackDragon 260Z front bumper bar and a regular 70-72 240z front bumper bar ?

My car being "not accessible" (at the shop which is a good 1 hour drive in the Canadian snow...) for a few months can anyone help and give me the dimension (Length, Width, Height) and weight approximation of a Z 70-72 front bumper ?

Did order a set this morning from Nissan Canada. Will be deliver before the end of the week next week. Will post a few pictures then.

Did some search with the E-Fast software and there is no mention of the color. Also did search on http://carfiche.com and only mention was for Black, Brown, Beige, Dark Brown colors. Nothing on Red. Just spoke with a Nissan dealer located in Blainville, Quebec which is close to my hometown. There is 7 sets available in Vancouver (British Columbia) and 3 sets in Toronto (Ontario). The part guy at that dealer is searching for all available colors and should call me back with the details. Price for a set is 425.97$ Canadian dollar (federal and provincial tax and delivery to my home included). I am thinking of buying 2 or 3 sets. Anyone know if Red is available from Les at Classic Datsun ? Would also be open to exchange one of the new canadian black set for close to new or new red set.

As some of you already know from previous post, my 73 resto/refresh winter project is going pretty well and the resto shop doing the work is now addressing the mechanical part of the Z. Car was motorized by previous owner with a stock L28 (76, 280z) with standard N42 head. 5 speed trans. from the 76 was also put in by po. There is some oil leaking and gasket needs to be replaced and head to be shaved. Car will be my weekend driver next summer and I do not plan present or future to race it in any form (no stroker). Questions: What is the generally recommended shaving thickness and type of gasket in order to obtain maximum performance and reliability from my L28/N42 combo ? Being at it, any other low cost modifications to the L28/N42 that I should do ? Anything tricky that I should be on the lookout for before doing the shaving/gasket ?
