my engine is all original hence modified cam shaft. all the stuff i mentioned on upgrades are the once i've done so far. nothing more. no turbo, no oversize ports etc...my question is entirely on upgrades tthat can be done on original 280 zx engine. i dont want to add turbo since i might spend more time fixing it than enjoying the ride on consistent basis. i will putting in a rising pressure fuel regulator soon. and i also plan to put a electric water pump to free up the load on the engine. i wanted to know more upgrades if theres anymore available out there. thanks for the response.
i'd give my z the best paint job, all the upgrades to make the original engine the fastest it could be...and i mean all, replace all the seats and carpet, best body kit, best tires and wheels....ahhh....i should just settle for a beemer.
sounds like a problem i had 2 years ago. i fixed the most obvious ones i can think of which was to eliminate the gas possiblity to no avail. the culprit was the elec. module next to the distributor. the engines gets hot and the darn thing acted up. when i poured little water on it to cool it down, it started right up. good luck
i have done some upgrades on my 1979 280zx. i have modified cam shaft, bug throttle body, headers and exhaust, cold air intake, eibach springs, low profile tires,. I've seen remarkable improvements both in speed and and handling. anything else i can do to get this car perform better, especially speed wise.
I was going to do some stuff on my 280zx, and i was wondering which size wheels would be the best. Right now i have 15x7 centerline wheels and i have alot of space between the tires and the wheel mold . I have Eibach Springs, so my car is only about 5-7 inches off the ground :nervous:. So if anybody has any good idias, please PM me, or cantact me at marabantes@aol.com.
