  1. This one looks quick but it seems to have an identity crisis. It's both a FairladyZ and a 240Z...
  2. OMG! Mitchell what have you done! Well, enjoy it then... 8)
  3. Absolutely not true... I will give you that the braking system was the most underdesigned system on the early cars but any problems with it manifested in fade at the front.
  4. Reminds me of the "Top 100 Hospitals in America" claim that goes around every year. They pay for it. BS!!!

Herman, I've got some wheels that are period correct and would look fantastic on your car. Well, they don't actually belong to me but I have them. They belong to a guy you should meet who lives in Rocklin...

It's important to make a distinction between original and dealer installed. Those are not original wheels but when the cars were new, it was common for the dealer to increase their margin of profit by installing a spectrum of 'dealer installed options.' They'd spray on undercoating and charge $150 and make an extra $75, they'd install A/C and pocket another $100. These wheels were commonly put on by the dealer for that reason. So, while they might not be factory original, they were at least dealer original.
  7. Look through my friend list on Facebook. His name is Paul Sayegh. He can hook you up with sources and whatever you need. Lives in El Dorado Hills, has the nicest 914 probably on the planet, easily a $75K car. Once you find him in my Friend list just PM him and tell him you know me. Did you ever come to the Sacramento Porsche Family Reunions at the donut shop? He came down two or three times to those.
  8. Hey Herman, A friend of mine did just that. He bought the heater elements from an online site called Camp914.com. When he recovered the seats, he placed the elements and then wired them up to the dash. When he turns them on, it's heaven! He is up in El Dorado Hills and a heck of a nice guy. I could put you two together if you need counseling on it but it was pretty straight forward as I recall.
  9. A private effort...
  10. Rippin' along...
  11. Enough said...
  12. One of my personal heroes... Not quite sure what that is he is standing next to or if he is driving it or just taking a ride-along or maybe just passing by... Looks like an early 70's Celica...
  13. I agree with Carrott. The only acceptable CR choice you have is P79/dished. Anything higher than that will bring you detonation without much boost. P90 or P90a would be your best choices. Watch the classifieds, I will be selling a turbo intake, exhaust, P90 in very good shape, and maybe a turbo oil pan if I can find another non-turbo pan in good shape...

Oh yes! The rate of alcoholism is astounding!

If you watch the videos carefully you will see what I mean about their infrastructure. In one, a truck driving down the street has powerlines just fall down and grab onto his truck structure and cause it to wheelie in an intersection. In another, a light pole just falls for no apparent reason. Clearly, they are crazed drivers but it doesn't help that the roads and such have gone to ****...

That's why they make them all have dash cams... Totally trashed infrastructure, they'll duct tape anything together and drive it, seriously, what a mess!
  17. Eric is the man when it comes to brakes, that's for sure! I see he did his usual job with yours Steve... I estimate that between my three sports cars, the 911, the 914, and the 240Z Eric has done probably six sets of brakes for me. He also rebuilt my control arms in the rear of my 914 and supplied a special type of bushings I wish we're available for the Z because they're AWESOME! He also supplies all my brake pads and I go through some brake pads! Mitchell and mike, you should give him a call...
  18. Now if you can get it for $500 and you have an understanding wife, I once bought a Z just like that for $400 sold the front spoiler for $75, wheels for $300, bumpers for $100 each, various other parts for about $800 more. I handed a couple hundred to my wife and said "go shopping." Now, she never questions anything I do parts car wise... I kept the engine and transmission and built it up for my other Z. Oh, I agree with Zedy, triple what you see and you will have an idea of just how much rust you're dealing with...
  19. This is a car that is worth $500 or less if it has a good running L28 and a good shifting 5 speed. Parts. Someone imported that to California or it spent a significant portion of its existence elsewhere...
  20. I will have to ask Keith about Mikuni's... One of our members here and a friend of mine Silver Streak, dropped off a Mikuni carb for Keith to look at and model. I believe that he developed jetting for it and I hooked him up with some Miki guys for beta testing but I have not heard anything from those guys. So, the answer to your question is maybe... Sorry.
  21. Cool! Thanks Les! By the way, I hooked up with Andy today up at his sister's place at Lake Tahoe. We were both amazed at the quality of the valence and spoiler... Thanks! I love it when a plan comes together...
  22. I wonder if this one is still around?
  23. Noted... Keith has completely redesigned the jets... The clinic will wait until he has them in production which will be soon...

Not really necessary to mask off the block like that. I have painted several and you just paint judiciously, avoiding what stays raw metal then wipe down the surfaces you don't want painted with paint thinner. In fact that is what I thought you had done because your tape is the proper block color. Then I opened your pictures up... 8)
  25. Wide-body GT...
